Death

You and James stood in the elevator, you hesitated

"What's wrong, you've been acting strange all day"
James held your hand

"I know your dead"
You said after a long pause

James tapped the floor with his cane

"It was bound to happen"
He sighed
"I'm-"

"No it's fine"
You stared forward

"Do you still.. love me?"

"Mhm"
You nodded
"I just wish i figured it out sooner"

You hesitated one more time

"I-"
You knew he was a killer too
"I love you"

The doors opened and you let go of James, you walked off and closed the door before he could get in. You locked it

"Darling!"
James shouted, knocking on the door
"You said you loved me! Let me in!"

"I need some space"
You shouted back

You sat down at the foot of the door and covered your face

This whole Marriage had been a lie, everything he said at the dinner table was true

He did marry you to pass the time.. he then fell for you, just the same way you did for him

The cake

That's when you fell for him, that damn cake

You laughed through tears, you married a dead man

You remembered the night of your wedding, you opened his mouth and jammed the cake in

He did the same

Light and dark, saint and sinner, alive and dead

You sniffed and stood up, you opened the door

James was sat on the other side of the door, he stood up as you opened the door

He cupped your cheek and wiped away tears

"How'd you.. die?"
You asked

"I.. committed suicide"
He said
"Slit my throat"

You laughed

"So that's why you wear that ugly scarf"
You sniffled

He nodded and smiled

"Yes, it was hard to cover that mistake up"
He said
"I hope we don't make that mistake with you"

You sighed

"I don't wanna die yet"
You wiped your face

"You don't have to, my love"
James fixed your hair
"You can do it when your ready"

You nodded

"I need to go"
James said, kissing you and turning around
"We shall dine tonight. Room 64 like usual"

He walked out of the room, leaving you alone
