Hey guys, gals, and non-binary pals! So... In case I forgot to mention, the days aren't usually gonna match up with weekends, which is why I haven't bothered to add a day to any chappies. So if you notice that I've written, for instance, 7 school days in a row... Shush. Now onto the chapter!

February 28, 1987
The gang's back, that's who! The day prior, Steve got Eddie to join them for a hangout. He ended up failing to convince Hopper to let the Munson boy go- but when Maxine intervened and mentioned that it was her first time talking to any of her friends since the earthquake, he conceded to a few hours at the Wheelers'.

So off the went. At 10:00 A.M. that morning (much to the dismay of Steve, who wanted to sleep in on his day off, but was willing to wake up early for his sister), the group met up in Micheal and Nancy Wheeler's basement. Even Argyle, Erica, Joyce, and Murray were there; Argyle's boss was just as high as him and gave him extra weeks worth of days off, the Byers had moved back to Hawkins, and Murray was... Murray.

They just talked at first, Maxine receiving huge hugs from the few that hadn't yet seen her, and got majorly concerned after meeting Argyle. I'm just going to assume you know what I mean, because it's really best if I don't have to elaborate on the situation more than this: Maxine Mayfield, in the last two months (excluding her time in a coma), had met two drug dealers with long hair- not to mention one of her best friends' brothers becoming a druggie over the course of a year.

(Jonathan had, by the way, cut his hair and shaved his mustache, but still smoked w33d every so often. It's a hard habit to break, but at least he's not burning that "purple palm tree delight" shit anymore.)

Btw- I'm gonna slip in chapters with Max's letters at some point, bc she's gonna let them read them, as long as they don't take them too seriously.

They group of 16- The Party, young adults, Erica, and the Russian Trio- decided to watch a movie. They settled on the Karate Kid after a few minutes of arguing. The Sinclairs and Robin went to get snacks. Lucas came down pretty quickly with some bags of chips and a bowl of popcorn, while Erica and Robin stayed and got drinks.

The fourteen who remained seated in the basement were chatting like normal people would, until eleven of them heard a noise. Th other three gasped loudly and made eye contact, with a sickly look on their faces and a grim demeanor. "Shit."
