The light of the sun shined through the windows, a man with a blue shirt and gray pants walked in the room, he was tired, he approached his bed, when suddenly a knock on the door of his house, "coming!" the man yelled, he walked Infront of his door and opened it

"Is this the house of Jim Harold ?"

"Yes it is me"

"Someone told me to give you this"

The boy took a letter from his bag

"Thanks, I guess"

The boy happily walked away from the house

Weirdly, a stranger knew my name, and even weirder is that this stranger gave me a mail

I turned back and walked to my room. "should I open this letter?" I thought I don't have anything important to do, so why not.

I carefully opened the white letter to see what was inside

I saw a card

I was reading the content of the letter

"HELLO! You are invited to a masquerade!

Don't worry about the address, because your location is right next to the studio!

The masquerade starts in 1 day at 11 PM

All you need to do is to present yourself with a festival mask!

See you there!

Your good friend"

That wasn't what I expected, I thought it was a scam, but no, apparently it's an invite for me to join a masquerade, how strange

I don't have anything planned tomorrow, and even if it's just a joke, at least I had something to do

I do have a festival mask from college since it still fit me, I will use it for the masquerade, and the suit I used at an interview for a job, so I don't have to buy anything, it was my last day of college, so I and my friend Dave were going to a restaurant to eat something, I like to hang out with Dave since we met each other in high school.

When we entered the restaurant, Dave asked me something weird

Dave: Hey, do you remember that nerd with black hair that always liked to read books about the human body?

Jim: Yeah, I remember him, but, why are you talking about him?

Dave: I never told you that he disappeared 1 year ago, didn't I?

Jim: Wait, he disappeared ?! I thought he traveled back to the UK!

Dave: Yeah, I didn't want you to worry about that

I was surprised, how could I not know this?

Dave: So, to change the subject, did you got invited to this weird masquerade too?

Jim: Wait, you got invited too?

Dave: Yeah, do you think we should go?

Jim: I suspect that it's a joke, because why would this stranger invite-only two people to a masquerade

Dave: The person didn't send an invite to only us two

Jim: What do you mean?

Dave: All of our class in high school when we were sixteen got invited

Jim: Oh really?

Dave: Yeah! I got a mail from Jesse yesterday, she was asking if she should travel back to go to the masquerade
