"it broke her."
in which the broken girl
tried to pick up the shattered
pieces of her heart
only for it to be disintegrated again.
GWYNETH ANDERSON TRIED.
She was like any other young 13-year-old in the Adelaide Woods.
Her life wasn't exactly what you'd call normal.. but it was as normal as it could be if you take the fact that her country was invaded by Byrok three dreadful years ago.
Time dragged by slowly, like she was in mud. And of course, so did the fearful day that Byrok announced the reopening of the Ancient Hunger Games. With a scan of the thousands of slips, her name was drawn from the bowl.
And with nothing but hope and confidence, Gwyneth Anderson makes her first venture into the mess that is the Adelaide Woods Hunger Games. Sacrifices are made, teamwork is put to the challenge, and friends and lovers alike are torn apart.
Only one emerges victorious while the 23 others perish. But the sole victor is shattered and scarred, and Gwyneth isn't even sure if that could be called a victor at all.
My name is Gwyneth Anderson, and this is my story.
