elrohir x legolas?!? a rant abt lotr ships

so my "a rant abt [insert whatever its abt here]" chapters always do the worst out of all of then but they are the funnest thing ever to write and i promised elrohir so here y'all get elrohir bc i've been thinking ab him a lot recently

BC SINCE I LAST POSTED (at the time i'm writing this only 4 days ago) I'VE GOTTEN SM NEW READERS AND SOMEHOW I GOT 100 MORE READS IN LIKE 4 DAYS????

i remember the days when i used to struggle to get 100 reads in a MONTH.

okay first let's talk about our boi elrohir

bc this chapter has been coming for just WAY WAY WAY too long

SO---

i think elrohir x legolas isn't actually a terrible ship

IK IK SHOCKING BETRAYING MY OTP

but like if yk me yk i FREAKING ADORE WOULD SELL MY SOUL FOR hawthorn by aeolianharps and elrohir x legolas is like a past/unrequited type thing in it

AND I ALSO LOVE GO WHITHER LOVE LEADS YOU BY SPELLWORTH WHICH ALSO HAS THEM IN IT

so yeah i've changed my perspective on this ship since the days of aralas otp nothing can break

JUST IMAGINE---legolas and elrohir are both like approximately the same age (i think elrohir is like at most 50-100 years older i can't remember)

elrohir (and also presumably also elladan we can't forget abt our boi) would have visited mirkwood for diplomatic and explorational reasons WAY before fellowship, way before aragorn was in rivendell, way before aragorn was even BORN

and it's safe to assume that during one of those diplomatic visits some shit went down bc yk they're bonding over the fact that they're both princes both have weird relationships w their fathers etc etc

legolas doesn't have brothers (i mean not TECHNICALLY like we don't really know but it's more likely that he didn't or at least that they died at a very early age and he never knew them) SO IMAGINE HOW WEIRD THE CLOSENESS between elladan and elrohir would seem to him

HE WOULD HAVE BEEN ✨INTRIGUED✨
then that intrigue grows into something ✨more✨

something would have happened between him and either elladan or elrohir no one can convince me otherwise. personally, i 100% think it was elrohir but it depends on your hcs for each of them and who you think would be better off with legolas based off how you see the personality of each brother in your head

YOU CANNOT TELL ME THEY WOULD JUST CASUALLY HAVE BEEN FRIENDS LIKE NO NO NO LEGOLAS HAS A TYPE OKAY

HE HAS A THING FOR (both adoptive and biological) SONS OF ELROND

so i 100% he had a thing with elrohir before he ever met aragorn and before he ever even came to mirkwood (aragorn i mean) and then when he met aragorn he was like wait no IT GOT BETTER

LIKE THE EX'S BROTHER TROPE. CONSIDER THE BROTHER TROPE.

like imagine the mannerisms aragorn would have borrowed from both elladan and elrohir coming to rivendell at such a young age and ofc aspiring to be like the both of them and coming to see them as brothers
