...and it shall pass like just yesterday.
Just like how I saw it.
Crossed leg, the way you sit.
I recall every bit.
Those caramel eyes of the moon.
And how they died so soon.
It feels like just yesterday.
Oh, it was just yesterday!

And it shall pass.
Just the way I witnessed.
Each night how the waning crescent shut heaven's door.
And how time ticked a year instead of minute.
Just when the moon was a fresh sentry.
Back in the first century.
It feels like just yesterday.
Oh, it was just yesterday!

And it shall pass.
Just like how I saw it.
Just a minute of decades ago,
people of 1Bc,
fresh and leafy,
melt into cold ashes.
When the sun pulled heaven's curtains.
After the rays marked people to a race.
It feels like just yesterday.
Oh it was just yesterday!

And it shall pass.
Like the aged era of slavery.
Vanished in this young era of bravery.
Oh! That slave trade,
in flames of time did it fade.
Like those scars that hunged around our necks,
after all those whips awarded by their legs.
It just feels like freedom came to our rescue yesterday.
Oh, it was just yesterday.

And it shall come to pass.
Like a woman in labour's agonising cries,
wiped by the joy that dangles in her child's eyes.
When she's all grown and well rounded ,
angelic and sickly divine,
will remember it like just yesterday.
Like it happened just yesterday.

And after all these,
and of all these,
will you simply succumb,
let dispiriteness haul you into sheol's womb?
Impossible!

Listen my child,
what you're going through, shall pass.
Like the moon that goes faster.
And something will come to you.
Like the sun that comes after.
Hope will scorch on you,
when your mood dies.
The way the sun appears, when the moon dies.
You'd look back at what you're going through now.
And crack up and wow.
Like watching the Sun that rains.
And it shall repeat again,
like the sun that reigns.
It'll feel like it was just yesterday,
oh it was just yesterday!

And it shall pass,
like the moon that disappears.
But something will come to you,
like the sun that appears.
And your heart will swoon,
when you see those caramel eyes of the moon.
Reminding you, it's just the same to an ancient.

Beginning
"Something will come to you. It can be now or a year from now. It's all the same to an ancient..."
