Lovers to Parents (Bucky x reader)

Several questions and memories

By the end of the day you were exhausted. Finding different ways of administering the serum without it being lethal was going to be hard, but you had managed to find a few different ways, as long as the team didn't make lethal shots with their guns or arrows. Lunch with the team had been quite as you, Bruce and Tony had continued working out of notebooks and on paper for ways to administer the serum. Bucky had a hard time keeping Blue off of your lap, but he ended up wriggling up anyway, and getting to eat some of your meat and bread that you had for lunch. At supper, it was much of the same predicament, but Bucky started feeding him table scraps as well, so you would finish everything on your plate. He kept saying you were eating for two, and he needed to make sure you ate enough when you gave him curious glances. You couldn't imagine loving the man more.
"I just got a notification that the weapons will be ready for testing tomorrow morning" Tony announced when you all were in the common room later that evening.
"Did you reserve the weapons training room for the morning?" Steve asked quickly upon hearing the news.
"I'm just in the middle of it. Fury put us as a top priority, so it shouldn't be any issue" Tony shrugged. You looked over at the eight pups playing on the floor, while Snow, Jasper, Cloud and Melody watched them carefully. "We bumped a few people for the day, but it's done" he smiled to himself.
"It's good that we have Fury's attention" Pietro seemed pleased.
"We will need to keep the wolves out of the weapons room, they can stay in the lab with us tomorrow" Tony nodded.
"Is that such a good idea? The hydra agent has been hell bent on escaping" you looked up worriedly from your spot on Bucky's lap. You were basking in all the cuddles he was giving you up until now, only half listening, knowing that the team would have to work on the weapons themselves. You also knew that Tony would want to be in the weapons room and making sure the projections would be working perfectly.
"I won't need to be in the weapons lab for long, and besides, I've come to enjoy the staredown that Cloud and Melody have been giving the Hydra agent.
"I'm worried about the pups" you whimpered slightly, looking down at them.
"I'll stay with you in the lab doll" Bucky promised. "I'll go in the afternoon to try out the new weapons if they are ready for us"
"I wish you would have come up with a scepter for us" Loki pouted a little bit from his arm chair. Blue went towards Loki and sniffed at his feet before letting out a soft bark, then sitting back on his haunches and letting out a howl.
"Uppy" Blue whimpered.
"What in the world does he want?" Loki asked, looking at you.
"He wants you to pick him up" you gave a soft giggle.
"Why don't you go to your mother?" he asked, but bent down and picked Blue up anyways. Blue sniffed at his face for a moment and gave a small sneeze.
"He smells funny," Blue commented.
"That's because he's not of our world, pup" Cloud explained quickly.
"What's a world?" Blue asked, gazing up at Loki's face before turning his attention to Cloud.
"It's what we live on, it's called a planet. There's lots of planets in the galaxy, which is space. You know when you look up in the sky at night, and you see that big white ball? That's called our moon, and it lives in space" you explained.
"We like to howl at the moon" Anastasia perked up, and went to Bruce, jumping up on his legs before settling on his lap.
"It's tradition we howl at the moon as wolves" Snow told her quickly.
"Why doesn't mommy or daddy have fur?" Zora asked after a moment.
"They aren't wolves like we are. They are humans" Jasper seemed to be ready to take that question. "Just because they aren't wolves, doesn't make them any less your parents"
"How come only mama, grandma and uncle Brad understand us?" Blue asked after a small hesitation.
"Some humans are born with special abilities to talk to us like they do to each other. They are very rare humans, and it's a blessing to meet one. We are lucky to be companions to a family of them" Melody cooed to him.
"My mama is special?" Blue asked, a little surprised.
"More than you'll ever know, little one" Snow gave a small giggle, which came out as a playful growl. "Your papa is special in his own way too" she added quickly.
"What does Papa do?" Blue asked.
"He's a warrior, he fights bad guys. Just like you will someday" Cloud licked Melody's cheek.
"Well, let's not get ahead of ourselves, Blue is still too young to fight bad guys" you were quick to nip that in the butt.
"I can fight bad guys mama, I'm a big boy" Blue whined.
"You need to be just a little bit bigger" you sighed, not wanting him to be in the field. He was like your own baby, and that scared the life out of you, the thought of him being in the field the way that Cloud or Jasper went into the field.
"What are they talking about?" Loki asked you, seeing you looking back and forth from each of the wolves.
"Mainly asking questions, but Blue just announced that he's a big boy and can fight bad guys" you frowned. "Zora wanted to know why mommy and daddy don't have fur" you added with a small giggle.
"It's such a blessing for you to be able to understand them, I don't know what we would do without our Zora" Wanda smiled happily, as Zora came to her and she picked her up quickly.
"I do have to admit, life has gotten more interesting with Edwin in our lives" Pepper cooed as Edwin came over to her for attention.
"We feel the same about Anastasia" Nat chuckled a little as Anastasia squirmed in Bruce's lap.
"To think it all started with you coming home with a pup and Melody and announcing that they were staying or else you were going" Clint chuckled a little.
"That feels like forever ago" you sighed, and nuzzled into Bucky a bit more.
"That's when we started falling in love" Bucky murmured into the top of your head, and gave it a kiss.
"We had been so busy fighting..." you giggled, and kissed him on his shoulder.
"I do remember you both fighting like cats and dogs," Thor grinned from his seat. "Tell me, how did this come about?"
"I found out what an asshole I had been to her when she didn't deserve it, and decided to show her I was a better man than that. She made me this amazing plum pie in response, and I just got addicted to her" Bucky grinned at the memory.
"To be fair, he was starting to come around when she moved into the compound" Steve interjected. "Slowly, but he was"
"That's true, Tin man stopped yelling at her every chance he could get once she moved in" Sam nodded.
"And he did completely change his tune once Blue was in the picture" Clint grinned. "The two of them would cuddle on the couch to take care of him. It was pretty cute. Surprising at first, but pretty cute"
"Steve documented the progression" Scott offered quickly. "That was fun to watch. He has it all laid out in his sketchbook"
"Is Loki an uncle too?" Blue suddenly asked.
"Yes, and so is Uncle Thor" you nodded quickly, flushing at the memories that were all coming back.
"Does uncle Loki have candy?" Blue started sniffing at Loki's suit jacket, and he looked confused.
"No, he doesn't have candy" you spoke out loud this time.
"What type of candy?" Loki asked, seeming to be surprised at the notion.
"Dog treats," Bucky grinned. "I'll go get some, the whole pack loves them" he tapped the side of your leg, and you quickly moved off of his lap and he got up. He left the room, but came back about ten minutes later with another baggy full of dog treats. Edwin, and Zora saw him first and both started barking excitedly.
"Here you go uncle Loki" Bucky handed him the baggy and Blue started barking as well. Anastasia jumped off of Bruce's lap and came to Loki, with Edwin and Anastasia close behind.
"You'll have to get on the floor, little monster" Loki chuckled and Blue jumped down. He had the full attention of the four pups and he took out a treat and delicately gave each one of them one each.
"Don't forget the adults" you reminded him, and Loki nodded, getting up from his spot on the chair and headed towards Snow, and Jasper first. He then moved onto Cloud and Melody before handing Bucky back the baggy.
"You're doing great, you sure you don't want to keep going?" Bucky teased him slightly.
"I need to go wash my hands" Loki shook his head and quickly left the room.
"May I try?" Thor asked softly.
"Sure" Bucky handed him the treats and Thor got right down on the floor between all of the wolves and started handing out treats to each of them, making sure that they all got a few more each. It was endearing to watch how excited he got when Anastasia sat pretty for him, or when Melody rewarded him with a lick on the cheek. Loki came back and gave a small smile at his brother before resuming his seat again.
"We should take them out before we go to bed" Bucky wrapped his arm around your shoulders.
"Just a few more minutes" you leaned into him, watching Thor play with the pups on the floor. "They are getting to know their uncle Thor" you giggled. Thor's face lit up when you referenced him as their uncle and he nodded his thanks to you.
