26: The Cost Of Riches

"So-" You pause. "-You want to be like a Sugar Daddy?" You were infact, Genuinely confused at this man.
He chuckles slightly. "If that's the way you'd like to look at it. Sure."

You heard a different voice, yell, "Y/n!"
And the same gal you met while you went out for a walk was there.
'What was her name?

Madeline?

Maddie! Maddie. Her name is Maddie.'
"Oh hey! Maddie? What are you doing here?" 'I gotta at least pretend to know these guys.'
"Well, I love visiting here for the coffee! How have you been?" She yanked the chair from under Dave, and sat next to you. He hit the floor with a thud, and a grunt.

"Uhm. . . I've been just, Dandy?" Honestly, You had no idea what to make of the current situation.
"Ah, again, Im really sorry about your job. But hey! Atleast the money was able to to help with legal matters!"
"Yeeaahhh.." 'what the hell is she talking about.'
"Yeah, Thanks a lot Maddie! My strange connection with bolts and metal almost turned me homeless! Then you bought a comfy house for me using most of your savings!" She mocked, In a high pitched voice. Turning to her normal tone, she said, "Wow Y/n! Thanks a lot for the strangely detailed re-cap of the last 5 months! But dont worry your pretty little head! You dont need to apologize for ghosting me ever since!"

You gave her a glare.
And she continued to speak. Except in a quieter, more regretful voice. "Yeah, I guess I do kinda deserved it though." She froze. Then looked a bit panicked. "STILL! I swear on my sisters credit card, I had nothing to do with the Sun and Moon incident!"

You furrowed your brows. "What? What happened?"
"You brought them to your place after the fire right?"
"Yeah but-"
"Seriously? Did you get over it that quickly? Headquarters, did a memory wipe. Well, replaced their memory chips at least. They do still have their past memories, just... Buried really deep in their files. . . . Are you planning on. . .Ya know. . . " She cleared her throat.

"Uhm. Sorry Maddie, but clearing your throat is not gonna make me understand your question."
She let out a sigh. "Come on, I'll drive you home."
"BUT-" Dave was about to protest.
"Shut up pretty boy. You've hogged them long enough." Maddie snapped.

When you both got in her car, (you were a bit nervous of course.) She asked.  "Its a shame you need to start over with them, but, will you?"
You, again, didnt know what she was talking about. "I might."
"Wow. What happened to that persistence? I worked so hard for you guys to get together, Im not letting this be it."
Your eyes went a little wide. "What? What do you mean by, Together?"
"Im saying, that if you really do love them, You should definitely try to restart. At least try again."
"Oh."

Heat quickly rised to your face. By the... Somewhat tingly feeling in your face, you knew you were blushing.
"So..." You decided to change the conversation. "How have you been? Anything interesting?"
"Well, I've been seeing someone, its not offical though."
"Thats cool. Female or Male?"
"You know I like women Y/n."
"I dunno, Things can change in thr span of... Half a year."

She did end up bringing you home.
You went inside, Freddy was at the table, sitting next to Gregory. Explaining something, as Gregory wrote in a journal. Sun sat near them. Watching happily.

"What are you all doing?" You ask.
"Oh! Y/n! Uhm..." Sun started, Looking a little bit nervous now. "Freddy is trying to teach Gregory a few things-"

Gregory slammed his pencil against the table, and got up, went over to a corner, curling himself up in a ball, Seeming as though he's about to cry.
Freddy goes over to comfort him.
"What topic is it about?"
"Well. . . Math."

You leaned over, trying to see what Gregory had written down.

'Huh. That reaction makes sense.'

You let out a sigh. Gave Sun a quick hug, and went upstairs. To shower.
