                                                    When Mamie Till was 18, she met Louis Till, an employed man from Madrid, Missouri. 
He was a boxer who was popular with women.
   Mamie's parents disapproved thinking Louis Till was too  "sophisticated" for their daughter .
After breaking off their courtship, she dated Louis Till.
Mamie Carthan, was born on November 23, 1921 in a small town near Webb, Mississippi.
The ring that led to identify the body of her son Emmett Louis Till belonged to his father Louis Till, with the initials "LT" .
Every year Mamie would return to Mississippi to visit relatives, she would also spend summers with an aunt, and socialize with kids.
