We wouldn't want to read like 5 chapters of works that have 100 word chapters. And of course, if chapters are longer, there will be less of them you are required to read. But of course, you can read as much as you want if you enjoy :D

 -----Also, some have only one chapter, for that the judging criteria will be different. I'll tag all the judges in that chapter so they can see how to judge books :)
