"Saan ka na naman pupunta? Are you ignoring your friends?"
'Yon ang salubong ni Callisto sa akin pagbukas ko ng pintuan sa unit ko, may dala-dalang pagkain. I told him na huwag pumunta dito sa unit dahil i'm busy. But here he is, standing outside of my unit.
Tinalikuran ko siya at iniwang bukas ang pinto dahil alam kong papasok siya. "I am not ignoring them."
"But you are, Aki."
It's been a week since Austin got here, drunk. It's been a week nang hindi ko sila ma-contact. Maski si Kai ay hindi ko makausap dahil nang matauhan ako last week ay may suntok na si Austin sa mukha. They fought, pero hindi ko alam kung paano at bakit.
"Trust me or not, Cal, hindi ako 'yung umiiwas sa kanila," irap ko sa kaniya at sumandal sa countertop. "They are the one's who're ignoring me."
Kumunot ang noo niya at nilagay ang binili niyang pagkain sa countertop. "Them? But they are the ones who keep messaging me and asking if you are fine. Did something happen?"
I sighed. "Wala."
"Really?"
"Wala nga."
"Are you sure?" Bakit ba ang kulit niya?!
"I am sure."
Humirit pa talaga siya. "Is it about Austin?"
"Fuck him."
He frowned. "What did he do this time? Did he try to kiss you again? Or did he try more than a kiss?" I saw how his hand clenched. "Just tell me, Aki. I'll kill that guy with my own hands."
I scoffed. "I thought your hands were only for saving people only?"
He shrugged. "If it's you? Then I'll let my hand soak in blood."
"Not a good joke, Callisto." I told him. "Bakit ka napadaan dito?"
"To check if you're okay." He said. "But you seem fine, so I'll leave na rin. I need to go to work pa."
I am not fine, Callisto. I remember the day that I was trying to forget.
I sulked. "Don't you want to stay? Kahit ngayon araw lang... Wala akong makausap, eh. Naka leave din ako sa work kasi hindi pa namin makausap ang client ko dahil hindi pa siya nagigising."
"I have work, " sabi niya lang at inayos ang polo niya. Hindi ko alam kung work ba talaga ang punta niya o date. Parang dinilaan kasi ng kalabaw ang buhok niya sa sobrang kintab. "But if you want... papuntahin ko dito si Tricia."
"Okay, alam mo naman ang address ko —" I stopped when I realized 'yung sinabi niya. "Tangina ka ba? Bakit mo 'yon papapuntahin dito?"
