The way she dressed (smudged makeup, a sparkly purple minidress, strappy heels) all hinted that she was at the race that occurred earlier that night, but he remarked that the way her eyes darted curiously across the bar suggested that she was not a local. She nibbled on salted apple slices between drinks. She ordered her apple martinis with soft pleases, thank yous and pretty smiles- a breath of fresh air in the stagnant slums of the Inferno.
She stayed at the bar for around 20 minutes. Gave a great tip. Eight didn't see the girl leave. No one did.
