"You're amazing, Donnie." You say as you put your hand on top of his. He looks at you with a red tint in his cheeks and a shimmer in his eye.

"I— Uh... thanks, y/n," he stutters, smiling softly.

You panic internally once you realize how close your faces are... mere inches apart. You glance at his lips, and he does the same.

"W-What— Uhm... what's that?" You panic, your face burning red hot.

"T-That... That's Shelldon's charging port. He's uh... he's around here somewhere if you want to meet him."

"Y-Yeah.. that sounds great," you reply shyly.

"Shelldon!" Donnie calls. "Shelldon, where are you?!"

You hear a distant whirring sound followed by incoherent mumbling. Then, around the corner, comes a cute little drone flying towards you.

"Shelldon, I'd like to introduce to you Y/n, a beautif— uh— a time traveler! She came from the year 2076." Donnie states.

"Coool! A time traveler! What's it like in the future? Am I famous?!" Shelldon asks excitedly.

"I actually can't answer any of your questions. The space time continuum is too fragile, even the slightest—-"

"Booorrriiiinngg," Shelldon complains and rolls his eyes.

"Shelldon! That was rude! Apologize, now!" Donnie demands.

"Ugh— Fine. Sorry, Y/n," he says insincerely.

"It's perfectly fine! I promise," you say, placing your hand on Donnie's shoulder.

Donnie smiles at you.

Donnie shows you around the rest of the lair. Everything is exactly how Casey's book describes it! You couldn't believe you were actually there. With him.

The more he talked, the more you seemed to fall in love with him. And it scared you. Not because you fear rejection, but because you know it's not possible.

Time is more delicate than a spider-web. The slightest disturbance will cause catastrophic damage, inevitably destroying everything you know and love.

You shake away your thoughts and refocus on your surroundings.

"And this is the turtle tank. Built by yours truly, of course. It has built in motorcycles, which I call Shell Hogs. It's also sound proofed on the inside, as well as the garage! Which was a mistake on my part.. I learned that the hard way.." Donnie explains.

"Wow! It's so much cooler in person!" You gawk at the massive armored vehicle in front of you. "Your tech is so ahead of your time, Donnie... You're amazing. I know I said that already, but I mean it. Really."

Donnie looks at you with a soft smile. He was developing feelings for you as well, unbeknownst to you.

"You're amazing too, y/n. I-I mean, you know.. from what I know about you so far," Donnie blushes hard and looks away from you.
