Love Deluge

If love is gentle like a spring
Mine's an immense deluge;
Not a drizzle but a halestorm,
Making you look for refuge

Tides in my heart, they'll pull you in,
Tangled in the stolons of dead hyacinths;

I'd keep you in a glass box
Never give you a reason to cry,
Encase you in bubble wrap
But you'd suffocate and die

I'll place my heart into your palm,
But you'll pull away like it's a bomb;

Pretty like an ivy's embrace,
I'll take your breath away;
Latched onto you like a parasite
I'll love you like you're my prey

Cracks in these dams,
Caged birds to be freed,
Rose gardens filled with thorns
I'll love you till you bleed

Like a bee, my love stings and dies,
Pretty like an ivy awaiting your demise;

Feeding on your heart till you're dust
then the lack of you drives me insane;
Yet perpetual - like a phoenix
for another lover it'll rise again
