Burning in the dark sky
There's a hole in the star
Which only you and I can see
It dives right into the sea
Just so no one else can see
Burning in the dark sky
There's a hole in the star
I can see it in my dream
The topping on my ice cream
Stardust flowing in a stream
Burning in the dark sky
There's a hole in the star
We cannot pass through the holes
For the likeness of the poles
And the weakness in our souls
Thundering under the sea
I see a storm of pearls
There's a hole in the pearls
Just like I've seen in my dreams
I remember the taste of the ice cream
Melting in my mouth
Like stardust burning out
The topping of like pearls
Let me tell you what it was like
And excuse me if my words don't rhyme
I remember I ate that pearl
And that night I saw a hole in the star
It dived right into the sea
Before anyone else could see
But here I see a whirlpool of pearls
As though they've fallen right from the sky
Stardust flowing in a stream
I wonder if this is a dream
I wonder if that was a dream
