CHAPTER 17

{Isabel Wood}

"Yes, thank you," I smile, taking my new setup phone from her hand.

I walk out of the mobile shop and bump straight into someone.

Two hands wrap around my waist, steadying me. "Woah, are you okay?"

"Yes, I'm sorry," I back up, looking up at him.

He stares down at me with his brows raised. He has pretty eyes.

"I'm Jack," he smiles, sticking out his hand.

"Isabel," I smile back, taking his hand.

I pull my hand back and he tilts his head, "I haven't seen you around. Are you new here?"

I nod, "I moved here a week ago. For university."

"Oh, where do you go?" he asks.

"Cambridge," I answer.

His eyes widen, "me too!"

I laugh, "is it your first year?"

He shakes his head, "nope. Second year."

"Oh," I acknowledge.

"Do you have an apartment or do you live in the dorms?" he questions.

"Apartment. I have it close to campus but I have a roommate," I inform.

"Lucky, I have a dorm and the entire floor is annoying," he rolls his eyes.

I let out a giggle, "well, it was nice meeting you Jack but I need to go."

"Wait, can I get your number?" his hand goes to my shoulder.

I think about it for a second before giving it to him. New friends are never a bad thing.

I walk over to my car and sit in before pulling out my phone.

I got a new sim because Theodore would not stop calling or texting, even after I blocked him, he used our friends' phones.

I got a new phone too because I wanted a new start and it helped.

I send my mom, brother, and friends my number, making sure to tell them not to give it to Theo.

I drive to my apartment and walk in, looking at the mess. Ugh so much unpacking.

Throughout the week, my brother sent me the rest of my things and now I have to start setting everything up.

I turn when I hear the door open, "hey roomie!" My roommate, Alana, greets me.

"Hey Lana," I smile. Alana is a great roommate.

I apologize for the mess of my boxes but she never minds. She always says that's how it is when you move.

"Need help?" she asks, looking at the huge box I just opened.

"I don't know why my brother sent me all of this," I say, taking out the one direction and Justin Bieber posters from a long time ago. I had them in a box for memories but he still sent them.

I continue pulling out the posters then I see clothes. Finally.

The first thing I pull out is a hoodie. Theo's hoodie.

"That's a nice hoodie," Alana comments.

I nod, "It's my ex-boyfriend's."

Her eyes widen, "never mind, it's not nice."
