"where's the campground?" Andy asks when we arrive " it's about 3 miles in" Maya says and I let out a groan and they all look at me but I just look away acting like I'm doing something else
"3 miles with all this equipment?" Dean asks her "yeah, and no stragglers. Travis and dean, grab the duffel" she orders them when they grab it they immediately drop it sighing me and vic just laugh
" there better not be a dead body in her" travis jokes
"its firewood this is a state park we carry in our own wood for burning I went over all the regulations" she says way to happily.
I grab my bag and walk upto travis and vic "I'm telling you we can make it look like an accident people disappear in these words all the time" vic says
"I think I hate happy maya more than grumpy maya if its even possible" I say to them with a bit of a laugh as we start walking.
On our way we joke around and when I say we i mean me, vic, dean and travis cuz the rest are moody we meet some nice people.
"Home sweet home" Maya yells as we walk in some clearing " gather around people. We have to set up tents we're burning daylight here. Okay" maya says then pulls out a clipboard of course she has a clipboard she then tells Rigo and his partner to go set up in a specific spot she goes to tell Gibson were to go but hes says he can pick his own spot while vic sets up far away then captain Herrera gives her a awkward thumbs up.
"So I can set up the tent so you can just sit around like you always do" she says with a smile I just hold up my middle fingers but sit down on my phone anyways.
A bit later maya and captain Herrera are talking and I'm so definitely eavesdropping and she says about how everyone hates her now I just yell out "don't worry I always hated you" I say with a smile they both give me a look but carry on then she starts blowing the whistle and collects all the matches and lighters then I notice vic's boy toy has finally arrived I actually haven't met him yet
"is that Jackson Avery?" I ask when I get a good look he immediately turns and when he sees me his face drops
"Salem?" He asks then I go and give him a hug once I pull away vic looks at us both really confused
"Jackie here tutored me in high school when he was an intern" I explain I then turn back to him
"did you and that hot red head chick ever get together?" I ask completely forgetting vic's next to me
"um yeah we actually have a child together" hes says awkwardly
"your a dad, your dating a dad?" I ask vic and she nods ever so slightly.
"Graham crackers, chocolate bars and marshmallows how hard would that have been" captain Herrera dwells
"who's ready for some s'mores?" Travis asks I give him a sad look "no marshmallows." Captain Herrera says
"what? I will go home. I will go" he says and then sits down next to me "oh, let me check on that for you. Hey captain are we still having mandatory fun? Or can we get the hell out of here?" Jack yells out
"give her a break son" captain Herrera say to him.
"Ohhh, give me land, lots of land and the starry skies above don't fence me in" dean sings
"let me ride through the wide-open country that I love" vic sings along looking at me to sing aswell "don't fence me in let m-" they both sing but stop when I start
"let me be by myself in the evening breeze, listen to the murmur of cotton wood trees, send me off forever but I ask you please" I sing and everyone but vic looks shocked
"don't fence me in" all three of us finish off then some people clap while we all laugh
"you kids need to take that on the road" Pruitt says then travis hits my leg "since when can you sing?" He asks
"forever I just only sing with vic though " I say lookingback at the fire
"oh, captain of the fun police is here" rigo sarcastically says as maya walks over I hear vic gasps
"is that the sacred pine cone?" She says which makes me laugh
"this is an exercise" Maya says with a smile "why wouldn't it be?" Me and travis ask at the same time
"you hold the pinecone, you say something you appreciate about person to your left and then you toss it to somebody else" she says with nice smile
"this is hilarious. It's no shes serious" Jackson says shutting up
"Miller, I appreciate that you always have your eye on safety" she says "wow that was deeply personal, and I might-I might actually cry" he says she then tosses it over to andy but it falls on the ground
"pick it up Herrera. Not you sir" she say but he carries on
"andrea. I appreciate how you always look after my health" he say handing her the pinecone
"pinecone I appreciate what good kindling you make" she says tossing the pinecone in the fire everyone except me laughs I stand straight up
"you all need to grow the fuck up, I'm sorry" I say sitting back down but then travis gives me a look to continue so I stand up again
"okay actually I'm not sorry, look I, out of everyone here dislikes maya the most but I'm still here laughing, singing actually having a good time we don't have to be here, you guys just took it that way, jack I don't know why your being extra dicky but if its cuz you need to get laid I'm pretty sure there is a bear around here somewhere that will help you so stop being a dick, rigo I really don't like you never have but you don't have to be a dick just cuz your new and if I was you I would keep an eye on your girlfriend or wife what ever she is cuz clearly shes getting laid on the side, and andy I love you from the bottom of my heart but you need to get your foot out your ass I Frankly don't care what your dad has done but at least he isn't a raging drunk who was never there for you growing up, look maya is just trying to do something fun in her own way cuz you all turned on her the second she made captain, outside of this team we don't really hang out with other people so we rely on each other so stop being moody little bitchs and grow up" I say angrily when I stop I notice everyone is looking at me shocked then I hear travis, vic, Jackson and dean all start clapping I then sit down embarrassed about my little outburst
"Salem is right" travis says I walk over and find another pinecone and sit back down
"travis I appreciate that your always there for me whenever I need to talk or anything and how you always make me laugh" I say holding up the pinecone as I say it with a smile he just gives me a side hug
"I'm going to bed losers have a good sleep love you all mwah mwah" I say blowing kisses at them all "oh and don't get murdered" I say with a smile walk off
"Gallagher" maya yells out as she follows me "yo" I say turning around "thank you" she simply says and then we walk back to the tent in silence.
