"Adrianna? You ok?" Adrianna mom asks. Adrianna didn't even see her mom walk in.
"Yeahh," Adrianna says, lifting her head. "I got someone to go with me to Hawaii.😐"
"Really! YAY! Who?"
Adrianna rolls her eyes. "Michael."
Adrianna's mom makes a face. "Why did you ask Mikey? I mean, I know you guys are, like, best friends, but I thought you would have asked Livvie or Maddie first-"
Adrianna nods. "I did, they were both busy."
"Oh. Well, I'm sure you and Michael will still have fun. Just- please don't do anything you will... regret. Just in case you and Gavin get back toget-"
Adrianna frowns. "Mom. I don't like Michael. I'm so tired of people saying I do. I'm not going to do anything with him. And Gavin and I- he hurt me so much, I don't think we're gonna get back together..."
"You never know," her mom says before leaving.
The next day, Adrianna is aimlessly scrolling on TikTok when she gets yet another phone call. She picks up.
