In One piece (my au) all the separate countries/islands have their own language, however, since they are all under the World government(Wg), they also have 1 main language 'uniting' them all together, however, they do still speak their own language. But, some countries original language became forgotten, so they adopted a different language. Most languages are chosen because of what real-life country they're based on.
Note: They wouldn't be called French or Italian ect, but something like Dressrosan

*The original language on Dawn Island was Irish, but over time changed due to the influence from other countries/Islands.*
