Eighteen years ago today, I entered this world. From the beginning I found myself to have an affinity for storytelling that I have continued to hone over the last decade and a half. This story represents a capstone to my childhood, being larger than any project I had ever worked on before.
This novelette was part of an ongoing alternate history project called Legacy of the Black Reign, spanning from 1367 to modern day. The next stop on our journey to present will follow a graverobber who chances upon a certain cursed artifact just over forty years after the death of Francis. In doing so he finds himself embroiled in a religious war spanning a continent and rapidly spilling over into several others. Can he unravel the secrets of the book and boat before they unravel him?
