This isn't a story idea but these are some animes that I love a want to reccomend!
The ascendence of a bookworm
Its super good and I'm actually in the middle of watching it with my sister. Its amusing, cute and family friendly (I think).
Terror in resonance
Probably my favorite anime. Psychological, badass, definitely interesting and amusing. (I would look at the age warning for this one. Its not bad. I just don't know if its family friendly).
Blue excorcist
This ones more popular and honestly I know why. Its good, the main charecter is lovable and easy to simpathize with (also hot), its got a good plot line and interesting topics. I'd say its family friendly as long as your family isn't super conservative or has a issue with some gore.💀

So fucking funny, great to watch, amusing characters, funny plotline, interesting take on psychics and it is definitely family friendly.
My hero acedemia
Amazing. Feels like wiplash the way emotions change in episodes. Gets you interested and makes you love certain characters, lovable main character, great storyline and honestly just fun to watch.
