Harem of Side Characters [Rewrite]

??? - I'm You

Returning to my room, I hear an unusual sound. The shower was running.

Now, I am sure I didn't forget to turn the shower off. The door was also locked when I came in, so the intruder did not have to force my door open. The only people that have access to my room are myself because I'm the owner of the room, as well as Sudo, Ike, Yamauchi, and Kushida because they made spare keys without my permission. Which begs the question why in the world have I not gotten that chain lock installed yet?

Out of those four though, I don't see any reason why they would break into my room for the sole purpose of taking a shower. So, either I have a ghost living inside my dorm, or I have an unhygienic intruder who has somehow been able to gain access to my room. One who hasn't even bothered to lock the bathroom door, as I can see it isn't even fully closed.

I slowly open it and tip toe inside the bathroom making sure to conceal my presence.

The intruder... seems to be a brown haired girl wearing nothing but a towel. It's not the worst outcome, I suppose, because I at least get a good view. Well, I'm not gonna say anything until she notices that I'm here. I take a moment to glance around the room first, though. Need to make sure there's no weapons or anything that could incriminate me...

Then I froze.

Hanging from the clothes rack... was an unmistakable plain, white gown.

A gown worn by the subjects of that place.

I stood there for a while, a million thoughts running through my head.

"Hmmm..." The girl was crouching on the ground, inspecting a bottle of soap in her hands. "Huh?" The girl looks up. Our eyes meet. There was silence for a while as we both didn't know what to say. Eventually, I broke the tension though.

"Hi?" Yes, that was the best I could do.

"Ah!? What are you- Auwgh!" She quickly stands up and bumps her head against the sink. The girl clutches her head in pain.

"...Are you okay?"

"Oww...that really hurt." She stands up to her full height, which sits only a few centimeters below my height. "What do you think you're doing?"

"I came to inspect my bathroom because an intruder has broken into my dorm."

"You could have said something, you know." She mutters.

"It's not everyday I catch a random girl in my bathroom, so forgive me for not knowing the correct response."

"I bet your heart started racing, didn't it? I bet you thought something like, 'Well I'm not gonna say anything until she notices that I'm here.'" She teases.

"Uhh...no, I definitely didn't think anything like that."

"Sure you didn't." We both stare in silence again. "Uh, I know we have some important matters to discuss, but that can wait until after I'm done with my shower?" She says.

"And what's stopping you from running away the second I take my eyes off you?" Obviously that's not the reason at all.

"First of all, there are no windows in the bathroom. I can't escape without exiting through the door, which you can easily block. Second of all, if I did want to escape, I would have attempted it by now. The fact that I'm holding a conversation with you means I don't have any intent to run away. Third, I know that's not the reason you're still staring at me." Correct on all three...

"You make some fair points. Alright, I'll concede for now." I close the bathroom door like a normal human being and lean against the counter nearby to wait until the cute girl is done with her shower, I guess. In any other circumstance, I would probably report an incident like this to the school. However that white gown...
