We return back to Hawknest. Inside the vast Terrhawks headquarters complex, there is a bay containing all the Zeroids. They mingle among themselves, chatting away. This sequence is supplied by stock footage. Zero rolls in at the top in a chute to address the Zeroids.
Sergeant Major Zero:
Alright then lads, let's stand to attention. Come along you horrible lot.
The Zeroids turn to face Zero. All except one turn immediately. This one judders a bit before facing Zero.
Now this is it, lads. We have had the all clear from high command. The alien signals from deep space have yet to be identified. And I myself along with Dr Ninestein and the others, will be ascending to space to encounter the extra-terrestrials.
There is noise coming from the men.
Order! Stay in line, men. Now, I will require a number of volunteers to come to Spacehawk with us and encounter the enemy. First come first served. Which of you are brave enough to encounter a completely new form of life? It's no easy challenge. To expect the unexpected. Facing the unfaced. The potential of wiping us out without a second's thought.
We cut to the lounge. Ninestein and Mary are making final plans for the launch.
Dr. Ninestein:
Is everything prepared, Mary?
Mary:
All set, Tiger. We will need some Zeroids to remain based here whilst we are gone.
Dr. Ninestein:
Zero is taking care of that. Ensure Spacehawk is standing by for our arrival.
We cut to see the gigantic Spacehawk ship orbiting the planet and then cut to see the Zeroids on the outside of the ship. Footage for this is supplied by stock film. This then reveals Lieutenant Hiro aboard Spacehawk with Space Sergeant 101. Hiro waters his plants.
Hiro:
There we are my beautiful plants. We will need all the energy for when we ascend to Martian borders.
Space Sergeant 101:
Time till UFO arrival in Mars radius, now five hours.
Hiro:
10-10. We are expecting Dr. Ninestein within the next hour.
We cut back to Hawknest's lounge. Ninestein is with Mary, Kate, and Hawkeye.
Dr. Ninestein:
Well, no time like the present. When Zero is ready with his men, we will board Treehawk, and make for Spacehawk.
Zero and the other Zeroids bounce in. The other Zeroids joining Zero are 18, 55, 99, 21, 68, and 35. The other Zeroids reveal themselves.
Sergeant Major Zero:
All present and correct, sir. I have some of my best men along with me.
Dr. Ninestein:
Then we're all set. Let's head for Spacehawk.
Zeroid 55:
Spacewalk to Spacehawk!
We play stock footage of Treehawk's launch. An unsuspecting tree opens up to reveal a launch chute for the craft. Older footage is replayed as Ninestein and Mary prepare to launch the ship. Mary, Hawkeye, and the Zeroids are all ready to launch. Treehawk blasts up from its hanger below ground up into the air and begins making its way to Spacehawk. Aboard Spacehawk, 101 detects the presence of the arriving ship.
Space Sergeant 101:
Treehawk docking with Spacehawk in one minute, Lieutenant.
We see Treehawk arriving at Spacehawk and docking aboard. Inside the craft, Ninestein, Mary, Hawkeye, and Kate arrive to meet Hiro and 101.
Hiro:
Welcome aboard, Dr. Ninestein.
Dr. Ninestein:
Thanks, Hiro. Has there been any change in the trajectory of the craft?
Hiro:
10-0, Doctor. If we leave now, we will rendezvous as predicted to meet the... unearthly visitors.
Dr. Ninestein:
We must remember we aren't the only ones who want to know who or what is aboard.
Hiro:
Battle stations will be prepared as we reach closer to Martian ground. We are fully armed and prepared for a hostile attack from Zelda.
Dr. Ninestein:
Then what are we waiting for? Set course for Mars.
The other Zeroids roll in to meet 101.
Space Sergeant 101:
Welcome to Spacehawk, Zero. Have a good fright aboard to Mars, sir.
Sergeant Major Zero:
Alright there, son. I'll take command here.
Space Sergeant 101:
Why don't you ask the Lieutenant, or Dr. Ninestein who's in charge up here?
Zeroid 18:
Oh, da'core, spending up here with arguing mon aimes for a journey to Martian territory. What could be better?
Zeroid 35:
I don't know. I wouldn't say it's all bad.
Zeroid 99:
Me neither.
Zeroid 68:
Ugh, you young lovers. Not exactly taking this so seriously.
Zeroid 99:
We've got a long flight to go. And we'd better make the most of it before we expect the unexpected.
Spacehawk descends away from Earth, on course for Mars...
