Part 23

No POV 

We continue this chapter not too long after where we had last left off, with Y/n and Io no standing in the new arena that had been made upon their arrival while Shalltear was standing before them, surprised at her new opponents

Y/n then grabbed Blazing Claw and removed it from the ground before pointing towards the vampire with it, his eyes giving off a red glow from behind his gas mask.

Y/n: "Let's see how well you fair against the two of us, Shalltear"

Io: "I will do my best" 

Shalltear gulped with nervousness before Y/n and Io both leapt towards her, Y/n rushing ahead first as he swung his Blazing Claw towards Shalltear who quickly raised her Lance to protect herself, the power behind Y/n's swing causing her to slide along the ground while simultaneously leaving a cloud of dust that slightly obscured Y/n while Shalltear tried to put on a brave face

Shalltear: "Now it looks like I have no choice but to retaliate-"

However, from above Y/n, another set of glowing eyes appeared as Io had leapt above the two of them, her Halberd raised high above her head and ready to bring it down on Shalltear only to miss by a few inches as Shalltear had to dodge out of the way, the sheer force of the attack leaving a meter long crack in the earth before she pulled it from the ground, looked at Shalltear and spoke

Io: "It's a tragedy that this has happened to you, Shalltear. But please, come home"

Pulling her Halberd from the ground, Io then rushed towards Shalltear before swinging the halberd around as if it weighed nothing while Shalltear was forced to be on the defensive and avoid most attacks from the Revenant until she saw a window of attack, leading to her delivering a kick to Io that sent her back 

With almost all of her mana depleted from her fight with Ainz, she had to resort to using physical attacks. The kick sent Io back a few feet until she came to a stop by using Dammerung to cut into the ground and slow her speed as Shalltear tried to follow up with a stab of her lance to regain the health she lost to Io. 

But before she could make contact, Y/n had dashed in between the two, Blazing Claw in one hand as he used it to block the attack. The force of the impact kicking up dust around the three of them and while Shalltear tried her best to force Y/n to move, he never budged an inch until Y/n then swung his Blazing Claw to the side, leaving Shalltear open for an attack as Y/n delivered a kick to her abdomen, cracking her armor while sending her into the wall of the arena 

Shalltear slowly pulled herself from the her-shaped crater before she flew as high as she could into the air, the roof preventing her from going any higher than 20 feet (6 meters) as she now looked down upon her Master and his retainer 

The two would stare at each other for a few more moments before Shalltear made the first move and dashed towards Y/n, turning into a blur as she tried to beat him with superior speed, but only to not be fast enough as Y/n then used Blazing Claw to redirect her Lance. But she would not let up, hoping that she could at least tire him out with constant attacks 

The scene before Ainz and Io was barely visible as Shalltear would constantly try and run Y/n down with her Lance, only for him to either dodge or block with Blazing Claw, each block creating a show of sparks. 

Not once did Y/n go on the offensive through out all of this until Shalltear managed to actually injure him when she dashed towards him for another attempt, this time he wasn't fast enough to completely block the weapon, leading to it scraping along the Blazing Claw and then strike him in the hip and create a large gash and make him fumble with a gasp
