Mary Ann's POV

I sat at a coffee shop going over my English paper. I scanned over the edits Niall had made and couldn't help but bite my lip seeing his writing.

Things had been weird since he last tried to have sex with me. We tried two more times after that, and each time I froze up. I knew he was frustrated, and he was slowly losing his patience with me. I kept reassuring him it wasn't him, and I wasn't lying. It was me and my insecurities. It was me and my constant need to picture Harry everytime Niall and I were anywhere close to being intimate.

This now unfortunately meant Niall had been avoiding me for a week and a half, his phone calls and texts few in between. I turned to my computer to make edits and as I did, I caught a glimpse of Blair entering. I quickly ducked my head down, trying to hide behind my computer and hair.

"Oh my gosh, Mary Ann, hi!" She exclaimed walking over.

Great.

I peeked my head up and smiled, "Oh hey Blair!"

"I feel like I haven't seen you in forever. Are you coming to game night at the boys' flat today?"

I raised a small eyebrow, "Game night?"

"Oh, did Niall not tell you? We are having game night! I'm making chicken wings."

He hadn't, and I couldn't help but feel like he was slowly pushing me away. I swallowed and smiled small, "You know what, he told me, but it must have slipped my mind. Been busy with school, but uh, I'm not going. Have to finish this paper."

"Oh you have to come! I hate being the only girl sometimes." She pouted and out of the corner of my eye I spotted Niall and Harry entering the coffee shop.

"Really, Blair, I'm sorry. I need to get ahead or I start falling behind." I smiled as the boys approached our table.

Blair looked up at Niall, "Niall, tell your girlfriend to come tonight. Please."

"Blair, she's not my girlfriend."

I looked down at my computer, biting my lip, "Really Blair, it's fine. I'll go to the next one, maybe." I peeked up at her smiling. I glanced over, watching Harry narrow his eyes at Niall. I took a deep breath, unsure of what to do, trying not to annoy Niall by puffing my cheeks.

"You should come, Mary. Take a break, if you really need to finish it, you can use my room. Come out and take breaks in between." I heard Harry say, and I peeked up at him.

"Thanks Harry, but it's fine. I really like this table, love this coffee shop, and just wanna work here." I smiled small.

"Guys, she said she doesn't want to go, just let her be. Let's go grab our coffee, or we will be late to class." Niall said, looking over at the register.

Harry scoffed, walking past him, Blair shrugging at me and getting up to follow Harry. I kept my eyes fixed on my computer, waiting for Niall to walk away. He leaned down and kissed my cheek softly before leaving. I couldn't help but feel so small by that kiss.

I watched them leave the coffee shop and soon after a barista brought me over a coffee.

"Oh, I'm sorry I didn't order this." I said, pushing it back towards her.

"I know, one of the gentlemen that just left did." She smiled, pushing it back towards me and spinning it so I could see the written message.

Don't float away.

I smiled, shaking my head and looked up at the girl, "Thanks."

She nodded before turning and walking away.
