Karan knew he needed to run to Tejasswi for what he has done but couldn't because his shoot was still not over. Around 11:30 in the night his work was finished. He called Tejasswi but she didn't pick up her phone.
"Parvez Teju bhabhi ke Ghar le le" Karan told his driver.
He didn't even bother to knock he knew she wouldn't open the door. He looked around and figured she was in bedroom most probably crying her eyes out or worst not reacting at all.
When he reached to the bedroom he saw her sleeping in a cute Harry Potter theme night dress holding a Harry Potter book in her hand.
He sat on the ground near her bed and kept looking at her. Tejasswi opened her eyes a few minutes later and was scared to see him
"Oh shit fuck!! You scared the shit out of me!" She screamed.
"Sorry I just didn't want to disturb you!" Karan said.
"I have given you the keys to the appartment so that you can come in when I am not home, not to scare me to death by sneaking in like this." She said coming out of the bed. "What are you doing here anyways?" She asked.
"Toh kaha jaunga Teju?" Karan asked his heart broke at the question.
"Apne ghar!" Tejasswi answered.
Karan slide into the bed, pushed her tshirt slightly and kept his hand on her waist."to aya toh hu"
"Karan... I mean really... Late shoot thi, thak gaye honge tum." She said getting up, trying to push his hand a little. Karan looked at her, he was hurt because she was trying to push him away, but didn't say anything because he knew he was the one who was mistaken.
"Toh tu bhi chal! Ghar apne!" He said.
"Umm.. about that.. mein ghar ja rahi hu kal.. tickets bhi ho gaye hai, mostly will be back in 2-3 weeks I don't know, I might stay a bit longer." She told him.
"Why?" Karan whispered. "Meri vajeh se?"
"Partially!" Tejasswi confessed. "Aur partially mujhe mummy ki yaad aa rahi hai. It's been too long mein ghar nahi gayi hu, I am feeling a bit... I don't know... Aur Pratik bhi aa raha hai." She said.
"It's okay.. I understand we do miss our families at times... Hum toh Roz video call karenge hi.." he said in a very hopeful manner.
While Tejasswi again tried to get out from his hold, Karan wasn't ready to let go. "Mat kar na Teju." Karan said when she again tried to push his hand.
"I need to touch you, it's comforting!"
"Mein nahi rahungi Karan! Adat mat laga lo!" She said "aur about the video call... Karan hum.. nahi karte hai... Thode din try karte hai ek dusre se dur rehkar... Humein pata chalega ke humein kya chahiye..."
"Teju what I said...." Karan wanted to explain but Tejasswi cut him off.
"I don't care Karan... Kya kaha.. kyun kaha... You said that... Bas.... Mein isiliye darti hi Karan... One day you will realise I am not good enough for you.. or maybe someone else, from your past or your friends or someone you met just that day is more likely to be your the one then.... Let's just figure out first... Soch lo tum...." Tejasswi was firm.
"Tu mujhe mat sochva... Tu kar jo karna hai... " Karan got a bit irritated
"Okay fine... Jao.. it's late.. meri kal morning me flight hai.." Tejasswi said and Karan freaked out.
"Teju... Laddoo... Tu reh payegi mere bina two weeks.." Karan asked.
"It's around three weeks or more.. or anyways Vidhi is getting engaged... Toh mein busy bhi rahungi.." Tejasswi said.
"Wow she really found the perfect partner, didn't she." Karan said, he was genuinely happy for Vidhi.
"Some people are lucky like that!" Tejasswi said.
"Three weeks... 21 days... Hum reh rahe hai ek dusre se dur..." Karan asked
"Haan zaruri hai..." Tejasswi answered.
"Par hum nahi reh sakte hai ek dusre se dur.." Karan said
"Says who?" Tejasswi asked getting annoyed still trying to push him away as he was still laying near her, his hand still on her waist.
"Tujhe kya lagta hai, tu itne dino me ghar kyun nahi gayi Teju." Karan asked sitting up, Tejasswi didn't answer.
"Kyunki tu nahi reh sakti mere bina... Tujhe dar lagta hai mujhse dur jane me..." Karan said looking into her eyes, knowing, he was right.
Tejasswi looked down, because she knew too that Karan was right..
"Pata nahi Karan, let's just... Hum baad me figure out karte hai... Once I am back... Tab tak if you really want to be with me tumhe pata chal jayega..." Tejasswi said, again hitting Karan at the place where it hurts the most.
"Mujhe accha nahi lagta Teju jab tu mujh par doubt karti hai... Mujhe kuch figure out karne ki zarurat nahi hai... Tu kar lena.. aur aise dur reh kar ek dusre ko taklif de kar pata karne ki bhi kya zarurat let's just toss a coin heads to mein tere sath rahunga tails toh tu mere sath... Kyunki alag ka option hum dono ke pass nahi hai..." Karan said looking into her eyes.
"Vidhi tumhe bhi invite karegi." She said, to avoid looking at him and to avoid what he said.
"Aau?" Karan asked
"Only if you have time." Tejasswi answered and Karan sighed not answering.
"Mujhe reh jane de yahin Aaj raat ko... Kyunki tujhe lagta hai lekin reh nahi payegi mere bina... Toh Jane se pehle mujhe pass rehne de... Karan said.
Once Karan was asleep Tejasswi got up taking out her Polaroid, she held his hand entangling their fingers clicked a picture
Me sach me nahi reh paungi Karan!
A tear escaped from her eye. That moment she knew she loved him alot. She loved him so much that it hurts her physically. She knew she needs to overcome the fear of getting hurt and maybe this distance could help her. She knew right now she should have listened to what Karan had to say but her mind was too clouded to listen and believe him. She needs to give herself a chance first to give him one. She needs to go away from him.
I will be back soon... Wait for me and be kind to yourself. She said kissing his hair lightly. I....
