Just Walk Away

Just walk away they say,
Just leave and don't go back they say,
I tried and tried but all he had to do was curl his finger,
And beg for me to stay,
He promised he would change his ways,
If I wasn't so blinded by love I would have known,
He would say anything to make me stay,
So, that is why I stayed, and stayed,
All you tell me is what I have told myself,
Your questions where mine,
His lies broke me,
Your ignorance chipped away at me,
He held the hand covering my mouth from screaming for help,
He wore me down, until I had enough
I bit that hand, and yelled my truths,
But when I yelled and yelled until my voice grew hoarse
You only asked, "how could you not just walk away?
