This is over a year old but I'm to lazy to fix this top part so ya enjoy my dented car (has been fixed since then she's a beauty again).
Not me almost forgetting to update. 💀 I CAN EXPLAIN. I was in a car accident, nothing bad I'm okay, but I had to deal with everything today and I was busy with school too so I got very distracted and busy. But bro Fr dented my passenger back door. (Pic) so ya I had to deal with that bs so that's great. Anyway enjoy this chapter my loves. :)
╚═══*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*═══╝Only two more days until they would wake her up. Only two more days until Tanner would hear Ophelia's voice again. They removed the breathing tube from her throat whereas she didn't need it anymore, so she had one of those oxygen tubes that went into her nose now. Tanner would only go home every other day to shower, but he would return within two hours. Nicole would visit every chance she got, but considering someone had to deal with the bakery and take care of honey she would be there only during the day. Nick or one of the other guys would come by to give Tanner food and check in on him. If they didn't Tanner wouldn't take care of himself.
Currently it was just Tanner and Ophelia in the room, he would occasionally talk to her. He didn't mention anything from Japan, he still felt bad that when he was having fun with friends she was buried in paperwork stressed out of her mind and he only added to said stress. As he sat in the chair next to Ophelia he heard the clicks of heels walking closer. 'Probably just someone else's visitor' he thought to himself until he heard them stop in front of Ophelia's door. He looked up and saw a face the filled him with rage, one he never wanted to see.
Ophelia's mother.
"Can I help you?" He asked standing up from the chair and walking over.
"I can't come and visit my daughter?"
She crossed her arms."So now you call her your daughter." He scoffed at the older woman.
"I was under drugs when I said that."
"Are you also going to blame the drugs on what you said to her face? Or that you caused her to cry her eyes out to the point where she couldn't form a sentence? Or that you made her feel worthless when all she did was try to please your demands? Not to mention the fact that you made Nicole run away because you can't handle looking at a C on a report card. You don't deserve to see her." He said blocking her when she tried to walk over to Ophelia.
"Let's not forget why she's here. She's in that damn bed because of you. You don't deserve to be here either. If you had said those three words she wouldn't be here. She wouldn't have taken that walk. She wouldn't have been hit by that car. It's your fault."
"She's right." Ophelia stood behind him, paler than she was when she was in the bed. Blood all over her face and clothes. The clothes she wore during the accident. "It's all your fault I'm in that bed. You did this to me." She shoved him and when he waited to hit the floor he felt nothing. He had fallen through it.
☁︎☁︎☁︎
Tanners eyes shot open as he jerked in the chair. He looked at Ophelia. Her eyes were still shut. She had no blood on her. She wasn't pale. She was in the hospital gown. She was alive. "You alright?" Nick asked walking in with a bag of food.
"Huh? Yeah. As alright as I can be." He said fixing his hair.
"C'mon talk to me. I know that look. How bad was it?" Nick asked handing Tanner his food.
"I was just sitting here, her mother walked in expecting to let me let her see Ophelia. I told her no. She blamed me for Ophelia being in the hospital. Ophelia was stood behind me. Pale, bloody, and in her old clothes. The ones from the accident. And she told me I was the reason she's here. If I had texted her back she wouldn't had taken that walk. If I had said I love you. She wouldn't be here." He told Nick.
"That's not true. Ophelia goes on walks all the time to clear her head or think about things. She would've taken that walk no matter what. The only person who is at fault is the driver. That light was red. The roads were dry. They weren't drunk. They are at fault. Not you." Nick told him. They ate in silence. Tanner let Nick's words sink in. He was right. Tanner wasn't to blame. Only the driver. The driver hit Ophelia. The driver was going to run the red light. The driver was behind the wheel. "Let's move to bit happier subject."
"Alright. How are you and Nicole?"
"W-well, it's going as good as it can."
"How's staying at her place?"
"Th- wait. How'd you know about that?"
"You've been wearing the clothes out of your suitcase and you smell like strawberries." He chuckled.
"It- I-I'm just comforting her. I-I swear." He stumbled over his words.
"Nick, It's fine. Your both grown, it's not my say anyway." He calmed Nick down. "It's funny if you think about it. You got me Ophelia and I got you Nicole."
"I got Nicole myself."
"No you didn't. You begged me to pick you up if I had said no you probably wouldn't have met."
"Okay, but at least I had the guts to ask for her number myself. God, could you imagine if you chose the other café."
"I don't think I want to ever think of that." Tanners face dropped as he realized how much he wouldn't have if they hadn't gone into that café.
