Alex quickly grabbed her backpack and threw it over her shoulder before she then quietly made her way down the stairs quickly. She looked around, making sure her dad wasn't anywhere to be seen before sneaking out of the front door
"Come on Bub, hurry up we're going to be late for school" Montgomery calls out as Alex runs over to his car with a smile
"Like you actually care if we are late for school" Alex laughs before she notices Scott in the front seat, "sup Scotty?" She grinned before she opened the door and climbed over him then sat down in between them and gave Monty a quick kiss on the lips, "Hey Baby, thanks for picking me up"
"No problem princess, we had to bring scotty, his car is getting fixed at the moment so he will be riding with us for a while" Montgomery tells her and then starts the engine to his blue truck.
He gives the girl one last smile then starts driving them all to school so Alex turns to Scott to start up a conversation with him
"Hey Scotty how is baseball going," Alex asks the boy with a smile. Alex knew that out of all of them, Scott and Zach were the nicest and it was really easy for her and Scott to get along, they had a lot in common and Scott sometimes trained for baseball with Alecy and Jeff the year prior.
She knew baseball meant a lot to him, not to mention, he kind of reminded her of Jeff
"it's going good but it has been kinda hard lately with all of the rumors that are going around saying that every player on the team is a fucking rapist," Scott said and whispered the last part to her so that Montgomery didn't hear
Scott knew about the boys on the baseball team and that was why he made it his own personal mission to protect the girl and make
sure that nothing happened to her but he was sure that none of them would try and lay a finger on Montgomerys girl anyway
"yeah i have been hearing a few of them, but I've been defending most of you, though there are a few that i haven't really defended" Alex admitted to him but then put a smile on her face and tried to change the subject "well boys, the two of you have a big game coming up soon how do you think it is going to go?"
"We are going to win," Montgomery says cockily with a smirk on his face "We have got the best players and all of us have been training real hard lately, brycie and i have been staying late after school to practice our hits"
Alex frowns at Bryce's name but tries to cover it with a smile "well I'll be cheering my boys on from the side"
Scott and Montgomery grin at the girls words

"Good. nice dude, your, your balance is totally better than it was last week" Zach tells Alex as he and Lexi stand next to the boy in the water who was sitting on the bike and pedalling
"you're doing great Alex, at this rate you'll be off those stupid crutches in no time, i would have given up by now and would be sitting on the couch eating churros and ice cream" Lexi tells him with a supportive smile but her stomach growled at the though of the amazing food and she cursed herself for mentioning it "Dammit now i really want some fucking churros" She complains and sticks her bottom lip out with a pout
The two boys chuckle softly at her, Zachs eyes lingering on the girl. She looked beautiful without makeup, her hair was up in a bun to try and keep it dry but some parts had fallen out and were clinging to the wet skin of her face and neck
"I'm dropping you off home so we could stop by somewhere and get you some churros if you want" Zach says and tries to hide the hope and excitement in his vice that he and the girl were back on normal speaking terms
"That would be amazing," Lexi says with an excited nod, jumping around a little in the water with a giant grin
"alright Alex, one more big push, we can do this come on" Zach says to the boy, trying to hide his wide smile. But his smile is instantly knocked away as Alex let's out an annoyed growl
Alex gets angry and pushes himself away from the water bike. Zach shoots forwards, quickly grabbing onto him carefully in worry and asks "hey whats going on man?"
"my legs don't work. and my brain doesn't work. my arms hurt. I'm a worthless piece of shit" Alex says and pulls away from Zach
"Alex dude come on" Zach and Lexi both say to the boy softly, they feel their hearts wrenching for the boy who was obviously in a lot of pain
"NO!" Alex yells at them angrily and they both quickly shut up and look at the boy in shock "its true okay man. I can't help Jessica because i can't remember shit"
"your mem-" Zach starts again but Alex is quick to cut him off again
"and everyone that could help me wont" Alex says angirly
"Alex come on" Lexi pleads and looks at the
boy
"Your memory will come back" Zach reassures the boy but this just makes Alex even more angry than he was before
"what are the two of you fucking doctors now?" Alex asks the and gives them both a sharp glare "how do you know that. seriously what the fuck do the two of you even know about what we are going through? Why are the two of you even here. go hand out with the rest of your dumb jock fucking rapist friends and abusive boyfriend"
Alex feels hurt by his words and she lets out a scoff and begins to swim over to the edge of the pool. She knew what they were going through, both of them.
Zach follows behind after her, wanting to check on her and also get away from Alex who was sending them a death glare
"i still need a lift out of here" Alex tells them as if he hadn't just lost his shit with them and hurt both of their feelings
"why don't you go and ask your doctor?" Lexi tells him sarcastically and lets out a sigh before she stops walking, she wasn't going to just leave him in the pool. Zach noticed Lexi stopping so he stopped too
"what the hell is this? some twisted therapy test" Alex asks
"and who are you, my mother?" Lexi laughs sarcastically "look yeah okay we don't know exactly what you are going through. But you have to know that we go through our own shit too okay. okay, we know what it is like to feel like shit is never going to get better"
"everytime that i come home to my empty fucking house i remember that feeling" Zach says and then looks toward Lexi and looks at the ground and begins to think about her and Monty, he felt like that when he saw them together. it felt like shit.
"And everytime i have to sneak through my fucking bedroom window so that my dad doesn't know that I'm fucking home, i get that feeling okay. I got that feeling when my best fucking friend died in my arms in a crushed up car that reaked of alcohol. When my fucking brother left me because he couldn't deal with all of this shit anymore. When one of my best fucking friends decided to kill herself because my dumb ass couldn't show her how important she was to me. I get that same old fucking feeling" Lexi tells the boy and the boys just look at her in shock and sadness. the girl had been put through way too much and she didn't deserve a single bit of it
Alex felt clouded with guilt as he looked at the two people who had been helping him get through this and he instantly felt worried that he had just ruined everything "Zach, Lexi, i forgot"
"And i come here every single day because i remember the last summer. It was PT that helped me through it" Zach says and puts his hands on his hips and stares at Alex
"I'm really sorry, you know, i could still really use a lift out of here" Alex says. Lexi and Zach both sigh before walking back towards the pool and getting in then making their way over to Alex to help him out
