violet dubois
violet longed for a life so beautiful it hurt.
violet dubois was born in paris in 1933 to maria dubois, a failed and yet passionate ballerina who thought it wise to introduce her daughter to the craft the moment she was able to hold her head above her shoulders without toppling to the floor.
however, as passionate as she was, she was not kind woman.
violet grew thinking bloodied feet, hunger pangs and instructor's hands wandering too high up the leg was normal. anything for perfection, her mother would say should violet voice her displeasure. and if words didn't work, her mother would go a step further.
violet did not have a beautiful life, no matter how it seemed to those who watched her dance across the stage of the Palais Garnier. she possessed an elegance almost inhuman along with her angelic beauty and she captivated parisians for years.
that was until, in 1951, she died.
and rosalie lilian hale brought her back to life.
