ZAYN'S POV

I wake up with the sun streaming through my window. Shit, what time is it?

Looking at my phone, I see three texts from Liam, asking what time we should meet because he forgot. I text him back, telling him to meet me at about 11:00. It's 10:00 now, so I have to hurry and get myself ready.

I style my hair in its usual quiff, a grey hoodie with a red flannel on top, blue skinny jeans, and my combat boots. By the time I'm ready it's 10:45, so I get in my car and drive to the small food truck at the little farmer's market. Luckily, Liam's not there, so I sit at a picnic table under a big tree and think about what to say.

"Hey," I hear a nervous voice say from behind me.

"Hey."

"Honestly, I didn't think you'd come." Wow, I didn't think he'd come.

"I did," I laugh. The conversation is dry and awkward when a girl, about thirteen, comes up to us.

"Hola, what can I get for you?" She asks in her thick, Puerto Rican accent.

"Hi, can I get a walking taco?" I ask. I've come here a couple of times and that's my favourite thing I've gotten.

"Sure thing, Zayn." Withney turns to Liam. "How about you?"

"Same thing, please." Oh, my God, he's so polite, I love him. Wait- there's no way I just said that.

We just sit and talk for a while. With every word we say, the conversation gets easier, and we get closer.

"I came out to my mum last night..." he says

"I did, too. Did your mum end up wanting to talk 'boys'?" I ask with a laugh.

"Yeah, surprisingly she took it very well for a woman of her religious power," he laughs back.

For the next hour, we talk, eating our food. "Hey... do you wanna meet my mum?" Liam asks sheepishly.

I pause. "Do you think she'll like me?"

"She's been texting all day asking when she can meet you." He shows me his phone. Wow, I thought my mum was a helicopter parent. "I know it's a little quick to have you meeting my mum-"

"Stop talking," I say laughing, putting a hand on his knee. "I would love to meet your mum." I give him a reassuring smile.

Before I know it, Liam's lips are crushing against mine. I swear, my heart stops as I close my eyes, putting a soft hand on his cheek. We pull apart, putting our foreheads together.

"Even for being caught off guard like that, you're a pretty damn good kisser," Liam whispers, a breathy laugh escaping his lips.

"Only when I want to be."

Like I said in the last part, I'm double posting. I might just post another one for funsies but who knows? Also, go check out my new story "LEX" I don't remember if it was all caps but whatever. It's a Why Don't We fic, so if you're not a Limelight, you probably don't care. Anyway, I'll try to fix up my posting schedule. ALSO, I MADE HONOR ROLL AT MY SCHOOL SO I'M SUPER EXCITED ABOUT THAT. Anyway...
