Keeps to herself, gives off this "idgaf" personality, but really? She does gaf. She cares. She has anxiety about her whole situation.

There's a virus going around. One turning people into zombies. Jessie is unsure how she got the virus. She wasn't hurt or injected, that she knows of.
So far the virus she has only causes black markings/infections along the skin. Its not too painful, but it can cause discomfort at times.
There's still an impulse there to eat human flesh, but Jessie has learned how to somewhat control it. That is, unless she sees/touches blood. Its harder to control then.
The regular virus has been "contained" or so the government thinks. They don't know much about this new mutation.
Jessie's virus was just a line along her left arm that grew over time: spreading up her neck and down to her hand, partly starting to run down her torso.
She wears gloves on her hands so the virus can't be seen, as well as wearing long sleeves/turtlenecks and anything else she needs to hide it.

In her "free time" she examines and experiments on the fully infected zombies, trying to figure out if there's a cure for her.
