Nam grinned as she took a few steps into the condo she shared with Freen. There were the tell-tale signs of a discarded jacket and white shirt strewn over the couch. Not to mention a very conspicuous pink purse was lying on the dining table and Nam knew that did not belong to Freen. She suspected she did know whose it was, though.
She softly padded upstairs and past Freen's room to her own down the hall. She squeaked in surprise when she found Freen wrapped up in her comforter. "Do NOT tell me you fucked in my room, Freen!" She spat low under her voice as she shook the sleeping beauty awake.
"What, no. No! Keep it down!" Freen quickly tried to shush Nam when she realised they might be too loud and she didn't want to wake Becky just yet. Waking Becky meant saying bye to Becky. And Freen wasn't ready yet.
"But wait, why are you in here?" Nam pushed, slightly tipping the door closer to being shut as she bent closer to hear Freen's explanation. "Did you...? You did! Didn't you?" She tried her hardest not to squeal as she watched Freen stick her tongue against the inside of her cheek - a Freen giveaway that she had something to feel smug about.
“Shhh!" Freen clambered out of the bed and headed for Nam and the door to cease the talking. "No, it's not what you think." Freen managed to just get the words out when Becky appeared from around the corner, smirking first at Freen in an unspeakable sin-shaped smile, then smiled coyly at Nam. She was dressed in a pair of oversized grey sweatpants and a white hoodie that Freen had given her to sleep in the previous evening.
"I'm just heading out. I'll see you girls later." Becky grinned at both ladies as she headed past them, sending a casual wink at Freen before disappearing.
"Later? When the hell is later? I mean, is she just going to get coffee? Or is she going home? Is she coming back? Will she phone me? Am I expected to text her?" Freen thought she might start hyperventilating as she realised the gravity of the night she had spent with Becky. Nam forced her to sit down at the kitchen counter with some tea and explain everything.
"So wait... You two basically fucked through your clothes?" Nam raised her brows as Freen bit her bottom lip, the memories flooding her mind. "God, that is so hot... Clearly I'm into the wrong gender!" Nam shook her head in disbelief. "Okay so what now? What's the problem, friend? Sounds like you had a great night!"
They really did have a great night, and that was exactly the problem. Freen was a find 'em, fuck 'em and forget 'em kind of woman. She had never felt anything near strong enough to want to repeat the exercise with any woman. That was before Becky...
"And you don't want to relinquish control of your emotions to her?" Nam asked as Freen continued explaining. Letting Becky have control over her emotions would make her completely vulnerable and it scared the hell out of Freen. She had never had anyone else influence her emotions and she wasn't planning on starting.
Nam followed along and added questions where she required more information to understand her roommate's situation. "So you don't want to date Becky because you're too afraid and uneasy about it?"
"Yeah... Except I do want to see her again." Freen sighed dramatically.
"You want to see her again but you don't want to date her?" Nam snickered at her seemingly clueless friend. "Freen, you have to choose one. Not to mention you work together now and can't avoid her. Did you forget about that little detail?"
Just maybe Freen had. "Shit..." She mumbled and dropped her face into her hands. "Okay, but that's work. What about after work?"
"What do you mean, Freen? Most nights you're working as well." Nam sighed now and rubbed her friend's back as a show of comfort. "Why don't you stop worrying so much? Take it one day at a time. Yeah, you're now stuck with a girl you got physical with, but maybe it could be exactly what you need or want. Just see how it goes."
"Fine, but what about today? Do I text her?" Freen could prepare to deal with work the next day later that evening, but right now she had to know what the proper protocol was for things like this.
Not even a minute later her phone vibrated on the counter. It was Becky.
