Kion, Kayson, and Kiara met Kopa at their den.
"Kopa, why did you just walk out like that?" Kayson asked. "Because Vitani is a Royal!" Kopa growled. "But she took care of Kiara," Kion argued.
"Yeah, but I didn't know she would be watching our little sister," Kopa dug his claws into the ground. "Like you did any better! You took your eyes off her for a second, just to yell at me!" Kion growled.
"Hey that's enough," Kayson stepped in between them, "Why are you guys fighting now? You never fought before."
That was true. Before their parents died, Kion and Kopa had gotten along. But once their parents passed away, things just went south.
Kion froze, "Stop talking about their death!" "What I was just-" Before Kayson could finish, Kion ran away.
Kayson looked at Kopa, "Let him burn off some steam. He still thinks he killed them. When is he going to realize it was just an accident," Kopa rolled his eye's.
Kayson watched his little brother run away.
Kion ran and ran. It was already sunset, but he didn't care. Kion hated talking about his parents death. It was just to much for him to handle. It wasn't his fault, but he thought it was.
Kion sulked by the river, when his best friend walked up to him. "Hi Kion," He said. "Hi Baraka," Kion sighed.
(Baraka 16, Baraka means, "Blessing")
"What's wrong?" Baraka asked. "Nothing," Kion rested his chin on his paws.
"I'm your best friend. You can't fool me," Baraka nudged him. "Fine. I'm just mad at myself. My parents death, was my fault. Mine. I killed them," Kion almost started to cry.
"Kion, everyone knows it was just an accident," Baraka touched Kion's shoulder with his tail. (Doing that means to comfort)
"I don't think it was an accident," Kion sighed. Baraka thought of something, "C'mon let's hunt. Maybe there will be some Outsider lionesses we can hang out with."
"Fine," Kion stood up. He and Baraka walked to the hunting grounds.
Kion got into a hunting crouch, and slowly crept up on a gazelle. Baraka was at his side.
Then, they heard laughing. Kion and Baraka perked their ears up. "It's this way," Baraka said. Kion followed his friend.
When they came out of the tall grass, they saw two lionesses relaxing in the sun. They were both Royals.
Kion accidently broke a twig, and it made a loud snap.
The lionesses looked up. Kion gulped. Would they be in trouble?
One of the lionesses was Rani. Kion didn't know the other one.
The lionesses stood up, "What are you doing here?" Rani asked. "W-Well w-we were j-just hunting," Baraka stampered, "Give me a minute." Baraka ran into the tall grass.
"Who's this?" The lioness that was with Rani asked. "This is Kion. He's an Outsider," Rani explained. Kion groaned. "Hi, I'm Shanti," Shanti smiled.
(Shanti 14, Shanti means, "Quiet")
Kion didn't know if he should respond. Technically, he shouldn't really be talking to Royal lionesses. If the male Royals caught him hanging out with their lionesses, it wouldn't be good.
Before anyone could say anything else, a male jumped out of the grass. It wasn't Baraka, but he was an Outsider. Kion wasn't a big fan of this lion. He got into lots of trouble. Kion didn't like getting into trouble.
This lions name was Eragon.
(Eragon 19, Eragon means, "Dragon")
"Hey ladies," Eragon smirked. "Ugh go away Eragon," Rani groaned. "I can do what I want," Eragon chuckled.
"Not in my territory," Rani growled. Shanti seemed kind of shy, and looked scared.
"This ain't your territory yet," Eragon laughed. Rani unsheathend her claws.
"Hey leave them alone!" Kion growled walking up to Eragon. "I don't think I will," Eragon smirked. Kion got ready to lung at Eragon, but Rani stopped him.
"An Outsider shouldn't fight another Outsider," Rani stated. Eragon lunged at her. Rani gasped in shock. She was flung onto the ground.
Kion may not be a Royal, but that doesn't mean he couldn't help.
Shanti backed up in fear. Kion roared, "Get off her!" He charged toward Eragon. Kion threw him off Rani. Rani stood up quickly and backed away.
Kion slashed at Eragon's face. Eragon tried to hit Kion, but Kion slide under him, and threw him into the air. Eragon landed hard on his back.
Eragon groaned. Kion stood over him, "So, you gonna leave yet?" Eragon nodded. Kion stepped away from him, and Eragon ran.
After Eragon left, Baraka came back. "Uh what happened?" He asked. "Nothing important," Kion replied.
Rani looked at Shanti, "Um do you think you guys could stay with us? And protect us?" Rani asked. Kion and Baraka looked at eachother, "Sure."
Rani and Shanti went back to basking in the sun, while Kion and Baraka kept guard for them.
It was moonhigh when they each went back to their families.
Kopa paced back and forth waiting for Kion. Kion finally walked through the entrance.
"Why are you so late!" Kopa shouted. "I was protecting some lionesses with Baraka," Kion explained. "That's no excuse to be late!" Kopa roared. Kayson tried to stop his brother, but before he could, Kopa threw Kion into the wall.
