A/N: No Kirito and Asuna here :) I might be messing this up because it's been a long time since I watched SAO so please correct and excuse me if there are any mistakes.

After the last class which was about geography, t's time for that certain activity for the week. Contrary to the norms however, the VR headset that we normally use were replaced by something even more bigger where it can fit all the upper part of your head in.

In front of us, 9 beds were lined up all were covered in white cloth with the exception of the VR headset which is colored black.

"Hey, Kiyotaka! What do you think is our activity for the day? Naturally, we only get to stand up and look at the things that can be seen in the outside world with that small VR headset in the past. But with the bed in front of us and that large, helmet-like thing, I don't know if our activity is still even be that," Yuki said beside me.

"Apparently, I'm just as confuse as you are," I replied, then shifted my gaze back in front of us and stared at the large object placed on top of the bed.

"Listen up, kids," an unfamiliar but rather gentle voice originated from in front of us.

Curious, we instantaneously look at the person to where the voice came from.
In front of us stood a gentle-looking man. He has this grayish hair and just like any other professors or doctors, he too wore a lab coat. Under it is a white shirt with a necktie.

The way he speak softly to us made us rather curious of him since this is the first time we saw him around this facility. Not to mention his soft and gentle tone made others either curious or wary.

I look at the other students' reactions and just as I expected, the way they gave him gazes were either a curious one, with their eyes slightly squinted and a wary one with their gazes turning to that of a slight glare.

I suppose I belong to the second group. However, I didn't give him a glare, but remained the way I looked at him.

"The object on the bed is a NerveGear, to which I personally made. And I am confident that this device will furthermore increase your martial arts/self defense skills and even survival skills just incase worst case scenario happens," he declared and smiled, feeling proud of his invention.

"This device, unlike the other VR headsets, can put you into real life scenarios. You can swim, fight, dance, write, even sing, and any other thing you can possibly do in the physical world. And what I said earlier about dramatically increasing your martial arts/ self defense skills, you can actually fight to death. But rest assured, kids. When you die or lose a battle in the virtual world or even die when given a test to survive in a programmed uninhabited island, you wouldn't actually die in real life."

He said and then proceeded to lay down on the bed and put the NerveGear on top of his head. Students beside me let out a long oh expression.

Fight to death, huh... I get what he was getting at. By having to fight someone to death repeatedly, as time will go on you will get used when it comes fights and brawls to death to which the man can't practically do.

I'm sure he can't afford to lose resources, which is us, only to fail. Thus, he decided to get us these. I'm sure with that, by time, improvements could be seen.

And by buying these things, I'm sure the man can save more money from buying other kids for another experiment.

And with these devices with us, by programming a scenario with us in it like being stranded in an island with little to no resources, we will be trained what to do in those types of situations in a practical way aside from just verbal tutorials and instructions.
