"Do you think the baby will be a boy or girl?" Jennie asked, stroking her slightly visible pregnant belly. She was excited because she and her wife are going to find out the sex of their baby today.

"I don't know, but I hope to have a son." Lisa replied.

Jennie turned her head to Lisa and looked at her. "Don't you want a daughter?"

"That's not the point, Jen. I just prefer having a son."

"Why?"

"Because if she inherited your looks, a lot of boys would want her for themselves." Lisa looked at Jennie smiling cheekily. Jennie blushed and slapped Lisa on the arm.

"You're an idiot." The taller woman laughed at this comment.

"And you're cute when you blush." The Jennie felt her blush even more so she turned away from her wife.
"Sometimes I hate you." She said under her breath so the other woman couldn't hear her. The younger woman didn't hear what Jennie said, but she laughed again anyway. Lisa moved closer to the Phoenix-eyed woman and put her arm around her.

Jennie snuggled into her wife's arms and laid her head on her chest.

"I love you" Lisa said and kissed Jennie on the head. After a moment, lisa looked at the watch on her left wrist. Jennie lifted her head and looked Lisa in the eye. "We should go now?"
Lisa nodded. "Yes, we should, honey."

Both women got up from the couch they were sitting on and went to put on their shoes. When they put on their shoes, Lisa took Jennie's beige coat off the hanger and helped her put it on. Then Lisa took her dark brown coat and put it on.

Lisa walked over to the door and opened it with a hand gesture indicating Jennie to go first. Jennie smiled at the gesture. "Thank you."

They walked to the car and got in. Lisa sat behind the wheel and Jennie next to her.
The taller woman started the car and drove to the doctor.

It wasn't a long drive, they arrived in fifteen minutes, talking and singing along to songs on the radio. Both women couldn't wait to find out if they would have a son or a daughter.

Now they were both waiting in the waiting room for the doctor to call them into the office.

"Mrs. Manoban?"

Jennie quickly got up from her chair when she heard the doctor.

"It's us." She pointed to herself and her wife, the doctor nodded and gestured for them to follow him.

Lisa got up and she and jennie followed the doctor into his office.

The man in the white doctor's coat sat down in the swivel chair by his desk and looked at the two women who sat across from him.
"For an ultrasound?" He asked.

"Yes, Dr. Lee." Lisa replied.

The young doctor smiled. "In that case, I invite you."

He got up and walked over to the ultrasound machine. Jennie and Lisa did the same.

"Please lie down." Dr. Lee said to Jennie, which the woman immediately did. Lisa sat next to Jennie and took her wife's hand. Jennie appreciated the move and smiled at her.

The doctor approached the reclining Jennie and smeared her belly. He sat down and the device began to ride on Jennie's belly, staring at the screen.

After a moment he stopped and looked at the two women with a smile.

"Congratulations, it's a boy."
