— 𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 𝐕𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐀 𝐀𝐍𝐃 Willow finally reached Emily's house, both girls felt like they were on top of the world.

They'd had a wonderful day spending Justin's money and were quite sure that they'd just established a friendship for life.

However, as soon as they walked into the house, their smiles dropped.

They were greeted with the sight of a shaking Seth being held back by Paul and Jared, while Embry and Sam were standing in front of him — attempting to block the young boy's view of Jacob — who seemed just as angry.

"How could you, man!?" Seth shouted, his shaking not dissipating even a little.

Jacob scoffed, as he glared at his pack brother. "You think I wanted this, huh!? You think I asked for all of this!? You of all people should know this is the last thing I wanted to happen!"

If Seth's renewed vigor to break out of Paul and Jared's hold was anything to go by — then Jacob had just said the wrong thing.

"I do know! Which is exactly the problem!"

"Seth, you need to calm down," Sam spoke using his Alpha voice, forcing the boy to do as ordered.

Everything went silent after that, an air of tension taking over the usual liveliness of Emily's home.

Eventually, Willow was the one to break said silence. "Can someone tell us what the hell is going on?" She asked, her tone full of concern.

Sighing, Seth turned to face Willow and Valencia. "Jacob imprinted."

"On who?" Willow still seemed to be confused, though Valencia already knew. She'd taken the time while they were arguing to dig into both Jacob's and Seth's minds.

And when neither of the two shapeshifters could answer, Valencia did it for them.

"Leah."

— 𝐉𝐀𝐂𝐎𝐁 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐋𝐄𝐅𝐓 pretty quickly after that, saying he was gonna check on Bella — before shifting and running off into the woods.

His parting had only seemed to make Seth even angrier, as he glared at Jacob through the doorway. Though he couldn't actually do anything — as Sam's command still had him locked down.

Willow and Valencia shared a look, before pulling both Embry and Paul outside to press them for more details.

"How did all of this start?" Willow asked her boyfriend and best friend.

Embry sighed. "Leah came over to the house to yell at Seth for skipping school, cutting his hair, getting a tattoo, and distancing himself from the family. Halfway through her tongue-lashing — Jacob came into the house and locked eyes with her. Seth went a little berserk after that and Jacob somehow convinced her to leave." He began.

"The rest of us came a little while after, as we heard the commotion, and Emily pleading with the boys to calm down. You two walked in for the rest." Paul finished.

Willow sighed, as she shook her head.

Valencia crossed her arms. "I pity both Seth and Leah."

Paul's brows furrowed. "Why?"

The redhead raised one of her own, as she gave him a bored look. "Why else? Jacob's still in love with Isabella, and not only will he end up hurting Leah if he continues, but Seth will be forced to watch it all happen. He won't be able to do anything to stop it. The imprint bond is sacred after all, is it not?"

Embry sighed once more, as he shook his head and crossed his arms. "It'll be the Sam and Emily situation all over again."

"What do you mean, again?" Valencia asked, curious.

Paul swiped a hand over his face roughly. "Leah and Sam were engaged to be married. A little while before that...Sam shifted. When Emily came to visit Leah since they're cousins who were super close to one another — Sam imprinted on her."

Valencia frowned. "And just like that, he left Leah for Emily?"

Embry shook his head. "No. He tried to fight it, but ultimately couldn't. In short, after getting into an argument with Emily, he shifted and caused the scar on her face. They made up afterward, and they've been together ever since."

"And Leah's been a raging bitch ever since." Paul snorted.

Willow immediately smacked his arm at his mean comment. "Paul! You know she has every right."

Paul sighed. "Yeah, yeah, I know. And I do feel horrible for her, but sometimes she can be a bit much."

Embry hummed. "To be honest, I think she just speaks the thoughts we don't say out loud. Like, when she's accusing us of being a part of a cult — Jacob, Quil, and myself used to talk to each other about that all the time before we shifted."

Paul scoffed and shook his head. "Yeah. You and the rest of La Push too." He stated dryly.

Willow rolled her eyes. "Don't pretend like their opinions on you actually affect you, Lahote. Dishonesty doesn't suit you, babe."

The other two supernaturals laughed, as Paul only rolled his eyes once more. "Okay, fair. But still!"

"But nothing." Willow retorted, before turning serious once more. "Now that Leah is an imprint, she has the right to know about the pack."

Embry and Paul shared a look. "Jacob is the one who has the right to tell her. As he is the imprinter — proper protocol calls for him to be the one that reveals the pack's existence and all that comes with it." The latter spoke, turning to glare at Embry halfway through.

Willow laughed, and Embry smiled sheepishly, while Valencia frowned in confusion. "What am I missing?"

Embry chuckled while rubbing his neck. "I...uh — kinda told Willa-bear about the pack before Paul could."

Paul punched Embry in the arm. "And that I imprinted on her, asshole."

Embry only punched him back, while rolling his eyes. "Hey! Technically I didn't tell her that part — she just figured it out on her own."

The three people surrounding him raised a disbelieving brow and stared at him in silence.

Embry sighed and held his hands up in a surrendering motion. "Okay! So once she asked if Paul imprinted on her, I may have confirmed it for her and accidentally spilled the beans. But she was okay with the imprint anyways! So all is good!" He defended himself.

Paul only tsked at him while shaking his head. "Yeah, whatever man. You're just lucky she accepted me, or things would've gotten ugly."

"Uglier than your face, even?" Embry laughed.

"Oh, you are so gonna pay for that!" Paul launched towards Embry, and the two boys began to chase each other around the front of the house.

As Willow laughed and watch the two boys goof around, Valencia's mind wandered off to Leah and Seth once more. She truly did pity the siblings, as she was quite confident that Jacob would bring a lot more hurt to their already painful lives.

She only hoped that he would see sense in enough time.
