Born into the light
Only to be blinded by darkness
Thought I'd be reaching skies
But tied up in these stereotypes
I'm bound by
I could be anything they said
Just not a dreamer or a believer
Not a preacher nor a sinner
Not a speaker nor a listener
Anything but
Love who I wanted
Or do what I wanted
But never chase dreams
They silenced
Me when I spoke my mind
Followed by intuition
But sunk in tides
Of societal obligation.
I don't dream anymore
I don't find the meanings of words
Or the mystery of untaken roads.
I don't love the woman I love
Its unnatural
Says the man above
Or made up lies to dull
The aching hurt.
