3. Complications

Caroline couldn't stop thinking about Alex in the days that followed their picnic. They had exchanged a few text messages, but she was too nervous to ask him out again. She didn't want to seem too eager or scare him away.

Meanwhile, Caroline was starting to feel overwhelmed at her new job. She had taken on a lot of responsibility and was struggling to keep up with the workload. She spent long hours at the office, leaving little time for a social life.
