"So yeah, that's what happened."

Mobaru listened attentively, his eyes fixated on Louis in silence as his brows rose high in astonishment. "Damn, you had quite the weekend." He spoke with a tone of amusement.

"Don't even mention it," Louis sighed, exasperated. Louis and Mobaru had had sleepovers countless times as kids, and it was no different then. Louis told Mobaru of everything that had happened to him the moment he had stepped foot into his mansion - not even giving him time to greet Oguma.

The two were laid on Louis' bed, blabbering the night away. "You're a man on a mission now," the elk joked. Louis' eyes were squinted shut, recounting what'd previously happened. "Change his mind." She'd told him, and he wasn't going to go back on his promise - but convincing Oguma - of all people, was no simple task.

"Have you worked on speaking with your dad yet?" Mobaru had known Oguma for years. He'd grown up with Louis and was quite familiar with the latter's father, and just like the red deer, Mobaru was intimidated by him. They both respected and feared the man, seeing how cold and expressionless he came off as and so, the slight wince at his mention didn't go unnoticed by Mobaru - who shivered. "Well..."

"You haven't?" The elk questioned, not shocked. "I was going to but--" Louis tried before the other finished his sentence, "You got scared."

Flabbergasted by Mobaru's bluntness and totally not true statement, Louis stammered through his words - trying to defend his pride. "Pfft no-- I wouldn't say scared," he scoffed.

"You were definitely scared."

"Shut up-- I wasn't. I just didn't know how to bring it up!" Louis exclaimed, his ego all bruised and battered. "Well you better talk to him soon! But anyways!" Mobaru glared before sitting up enthusiastically, remembering something. Louis looked puzzled at his sudden jollity.

"Your boyfriend might call you soon," Mobaru exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear as he watched Louis' eyes widen in shock. "What?!"

"Yep! I gave him your number." Mobaru only smiled, his tone blunt before it switched to a more serious tone. "Things happened while you were gone and I won't get into too much details but Legoshi needs to talk to you,"

"About what?" Louis asked expectantly.

"Can't say-- you have to hear it from him."

Louis' mind was hazy - the thoughts rushed by, leaving him unsettled and unsure of what to do with himself. He had gained confidence when he'd spoken with Azuki - concerning their plan to ruin their fathers' business partnership, but then, as he stood outside of Orion's mansion, the mere thought of it left Louis trembling. He figured it was just the cold breeze but he knew deep down that it wasn't just that.

The red deer was lost in thought and almost didn't hear his father calling out his name. "Louis, what happened?" Oguma spoke at his side, his tone careful but still somewhat devoid of emotions - as usual. Louis looked into his father's eyes, fear suddenly engulfing him. He had to do it. "I--" He had to speak up. But as Oguma's brows furrowed in confusion, the words the young herbivore wanted to speak got stuck in his throat.

"Nothing-" He gulped. "Nothing happened..." Louis exclaimed, feeling colder than before. The world had stopped and his throat clenched painfully as he fought back the tears. The only thing he could make out of this situation was that he was nothing but a pathetic fool. Louis could only comprehend the cowardice behind his silence.

Craven he was.
