"Yeah yeah." I rolled my eyes scoffing at his banter

His tail swayed as he looked at me with a soft look

"You think lo'ak is mad at me?" I said clearly not wanting lo'ak to be upset, even tho he had every right to be mad but I still felt bad

"Most likely" he answered back quickly with no hesitation

"Do you think I'm gonna get in trouble with Jake ?" I sat down on the ground Criss crossed

"Hmm." He sat next to me pondering my question

Neteyam's pov

Looking at her features that she was really beautiful. man when I'm around her my heart beats so fast, I don't know if it's normal but damn it. I scanned her face looking at her features she really was gorgeous even when she was upset and worried.

"I don't think you'd be in any trouble." I smiled at her

"You do not need to worry about lo'ak I've seen you both fight before." I smiled at her

"Yeah but it's been years I kicked his sorry ass" she laughed softly trying to cheer up

I put my hand on her's "then if he lays a hand on you I'll beat his ass myself"

I joked swiping my thumb against her knuckle, her hands were really soft they were so nice to hold. They were warm not to mention that she smelt just like fruit as sweet as ever I don't know why I am like this around her

She smiled laughing and looked up at me

"Thank you neteyam" she said softly her worry left, I can tell she felt much better and more relieved, though I felt confused on why she was thanking me

"For what?" I tilted my head looking at her

"Making me smile and laugh" she looked up at me with such kind eyes it would hurt me to lose her, I don't ever want to let her out of my sight. She is such an amazing special person.

"Anything for my mighty warrior" I let go of her hand moving my hand up to her cheek I saw her slightly move back

'What the hell am I doing' I thought to myself

"I-I am sorry I don't know what got into me" I stuttered feeling embarrassed

"No don't be sorry it just. It just caught me off guard that's all" she reassured me

She took my hand and put it on her cheek

I panicked and pinched her cheek slightly pulling her cheek

"Owwhhh neteyam that's enough stop that" she groaned not liking the fact I pinched her cheek

I laughed as she pushed my hand back

"I am sorry I just can't help it you have these round cheeks and they are just so soft."

She rolled her eyes playfully

"Y/n." I wanted to be around her more

"Yes neteyam?" She answered back softly

"I was wondering if."

I hesitated usually it was easy for me to communicate with her but she's making me so nervous I don't know why? She is just my best friend she is nothing more. Right? I mean she does have beautiful eyes.. she's funny..smart and.. nah it's normal to think your best friend is pretty right?. Maybe my dad knows I'd have to ask him when I get the chance to later

"You okay?" She noticed that I took a while to speak she looked concerned it was kind of adorable to see her worry about me..

"I-I am fine I was just wondering if you'd like to" I was a nervous wreck just seeing her look me in the eye. She waited patiently for me to finish what I was gonna say.

"If you'd like to." I hesitated again

"Hm?" She waited for me to say what I need to say

"If you'd like to help me train Tuk tomorrow" and there I go I messed it up again.

'Skxawng I'm such a stupid skxawng' I thought mentally scolding myself

'out of all the things I could've asked I asked her to help me train Tuk. I am hopeless' I thought to myself

I saw her pause for a minute thinking

"Hmm. You are the best trainer here I don't know why you'd need my help when Jake has entrusted you with that responsibility."

My heart completely dropped she probably thinks I am stupid. I saw her smile slightly

"I would love to 'help' you train Tuk."

she said smiling at me, she rested her hand on my thigh

My breath hitched as I became nervous I cleared my throat

"we wake up at dawn to train her"
I got so nervous and tense around her

Y/n's pov

I simply nodded

It was so fun to tease him. seeing his reactions were funny I saw his tail sway around

"You don't have to be so tense around me neteyam I am your friend not your girlfriend "

I joked and moved my hand from his thigh and patted his shoulder

He chuckled. "You are not wrong" his hand went up and grabbed mine holding it on his shoulder

He was very warm

"I still cannot help but feel so nervous around you y/n.." his ears flickered downward

I gave him a small smile "what about me is making you feel this way neteyam?"

He tensed up clearing his throat and looking away from me, he seemed to be off he let go of my hand that he held resting his hands on his lap

"Teyam?"

I saw him shift as he gave me an awkward laugh

I gave him a confused look "uh you know what. I should get going now neteyam." I said standing up

"Wait where are you going?" He looked back toward me his gaze softening it was almost like he didn't want me to leave

"I am gonna go flying it is almost evening perfect weather to go out " I grabbed some of my gear

"Let me come with you then." He pleaded standing up

"Why do you want to come? You will be fine here" I was confused this was happening so suddenly

"Why not? It would be perfect time for just us to get out. Besides I need to protect you." He puffed his chest up

I felt my face get red as my ears perked up

"I don't need protection. And just us?" I asked him. my ears perking up hoping it would be just us

"Yes y/n I am not the asshole I was then it'll be just us. And please let me protect you syulang"

he paused not knowing why he said that

I blushed "what was that?"

I heard him but I really couldn't believe he called me that. Syulang. I turned to look at him

"I-it slipped out." He stuttered trying to justify why exactly he called me that

"It is fine neteyam.." I saw his ears perk up while he looked up at me, his eyes softened as I saw him get nervous again

"Go get ready we are gonna be out for a while okay."

He nodded shyly

"It's gonna be just you and me neteyam." I smiled softly as I saw him get red
