Tamryn walked into the lobby of the hotel where Ryan booked rooms for
the whole family to stay. They were all coming to support her this
weekend. She and Tristan worked so hard these last few weeks and after the news she got from her doctor she murdered the hours on the
ice rink. Dr Wilson told her it was safe to carry on for now, but as soon
as the Championship was over she should really think of quitting until
the baby was here. Baby…. It was still a word she struggled with.
She was so busy with her thoughts that she didn’t see him standing
there before she almost bumped into him. He was standing with his
arms folded against his chest and one shoulder leaning against the wall.
Silently he watched her as she walked closer.
Her heart skipped a beat. It was the first time she saw him since that
weekend on the farm almost two months ago. Damn he was so
handsome! He had a frown between his eyes and she could sense that
he was really annoyed. And she certainly knew why….. Since she
went to the doctor two weeks ago, she ignored his calls and his
messages. She had no idea what to say to him. She first had to get
used to the idea of having a baby before she could even think of sharing
it with him.
He told her that Sunday on the farm that they would take it slow. A baby
was certainly not his idea of taking it slow! Well, there was no way to
avoid him now. She knew this was coming and she thought she would
be ready. But when she saw him just now, all her intentions just flew out
the window! He had that effect on her his whole life. Dammit!!
She knew she had to tell him soon. But certainly not now and certainly
not in the lobby of a hotel. She went and stood in front of him. He just
looked at her. His eyes were shooting out fire. Oh, he was mad! That’s
for sure!
“Hey,” she said carefully.
He was silent for a moment. Then he stood up straight. “Hey? After
two weeks of silence you just come here and say ‘hey’?” he lifted one
eyebrow and his voice was dripping with anger.
“Liam, not now please!” she begged. “Can we talk later?”
“Oh, hell, we are going to! We are most certainly going to talk. Tonight!”
he said. She knew better than to try and cross him.

“Yes. Tonight. But can we just go and have dinner? The others are
waiting for us.”
He stepped aside without a word and waited for her to pass him into the
dining room, then he followed her. When they went past the bar area he
asked her sarcastically: “Do you need a glass of wine? Do you have to
drink something away tonight?” He knew he was totally out of line but
he could not help himself.
She just ignored him and said instead: “Please do me a favour. Will you
get me a grape juice in a wine glass with ice?”
He looked at her confused. When he turned to go she grabbed him by
his sleeve and said: “And please tell no one that it is grape juice. I don’t
have the energy for any questions.” Before he could say anything she
turned around and went over to the table where her family was sitting,
leaving him standing there with a very confused look on his face.
“Where is Liam?” Lydia asked as she went around the table to greet
everyone with a hug and a kiss.
“He is getting me something to drink,” she said quickly and took a seat
next to Stephanie. Liam came over with her grape juice and put it on the
table in front of her. He gave her a long hard look but she ignored him
and started a conversation with Stephanie. Everyone noticed the
tension between the two of them. It was a rare thing for them not to be
on the same level. They were always in this bubble that no one could
dare to penetrate. So yes, everyone noticed. But she did not say
anything or pay any attention to his stares. Did he figure it all out? He
was a medical doctor after all. She just shrugged her shoulders and
tried to enjoy the conversation around the table.
“Are you and Tristan ready for tomorrow?” Ryan asked her with a smile.
“Tristan and I practised very hard. I believe we will do well,” she
answered and saw the sarcastic eyebrow lift Liam gave her when she
mentioned Tristan’s name.
“Oh, you will do excellent as always, Sis!” Allan laughed.
