Chapter 82 - Can't Afford To Lose ("Are you going
to be home tonight?") (1)

A few days later, Xu Lisa received a red-carpet
invitation to a charity event. The original owner didn't
have very good reputation and, in her impression,
never have been on a red carpet of any type. Being
invited to a somewhat reputable red-carpet even this
time Xu Lisa's manager Lin Jennie emphasized a lot
on it and started planning for the event as soon as
they had received the invitation.

One of the very important part of the event is to
borrow a gown.

Even though Xu Lisa had gained some popularity
from being in "Blossoming Us" and being the
spokesperson for Brand B, but she was still not
very well-known when compared to those top-tier
red carpet queens. Three to four days had gone
by before Lin Jennie called and told her that she
had reached out too the few luxurious brands and
they were only willing to lend her the styles from
past year. They explained that all the new ones had
already been lent out.

That would only make sense. Every luxurious
brand already has a few series spokespersons
domestically. Any new styles of the season would
first go to these spokespersons. Wearing the same
clothes was a big taboo on the red carpet, not even if they look somewhat similar. With Xu Lisa's current status, it was no surprise that she wasn't able to borrow a gown.

Lin Jennie's idea was for her to pick the one that she liked better between the two older styles. One way or another, it's better than have a high-end custom gown than a light-luxurious one With her phone in hand Xu Lisa mulled over it for a little and said, "I have a current season one by Tianna. You think that will work?"

Lin Jennie was a little stunned when she heard that.
"Which Tianna? Tianna Zhou?"

"Yeah, Zhou Ye, the Chinese French designer." As she was talking, Xu Lisa stood up, walked over to her
closet and looked at the gown that Butler Lin brought
over. "A short, light yellow gown with tube top and tiny flowers on the dress."

"A gown designed by Tianna? How did you get it?"
Lin Jennie's voice went up a notch. She sounded very surprised. "Oh, that's not important. Put it on, take a picture and show it to me."

After she had hung up the phone, Xu Lisa put the
gown on and sent a picture of Lin Jennie. Lin Jennie
responded with only one line, "We will get you the
best stylist there are."

The night of the charity ball, Xu Lisa attracted the
attention of many top-tiered photographers when she showed up in Tianna's Spring-Summer series gown.

The top half of the gown fittingly to her curves with
two flowers on the chest area. The hem was like a
blossoming flower. even if it was just a ready-made
garment, but it looked like it was custom-made for
her when she wore it with the complement of her
long and shapely legs, even the hem part of the dress seemed to have come alive.

Her hair was done with and adorned with a flower
hair decoration. Along with the jewelries from
Brand B, there was a sense of playfulness mixed in
her elegance.

She looked like a piece of artwork with her delicate
look. Many of the first-tier actresses paled with
Brand D and Brand C custom-made gowns paled in
front of her.

Steven, her stylist, was also invited as a guest at
tonight's event. When he saw that his work was
appreciated by so many, he said to Xu Lisa softly,
"Are you seeing what I am seeing, dear? When your
high-def pictures are posted on the internet, Brand
D and Brand C would regret not providing you with
their gowns sooner."

Facing the cameras, Xu Lisa was humble. "I don't
aim to be the best here, I just aim to not screw up."

"There's no need to be so lowkey," said Steven as
he gave her a bright smile. "You are born to do that.
Trust that you are the prettiest one here tonight."
