My tired eyes opened to the morning rays, all the images around me were a blur. Rubbing my eyes roughly, my view began to clear up. "Peter, Roman?" I muttered tiredly waiting for an answer I gave a yawn and a long stretch as my body cracked aligning altogether. Resting my head on my hand I noticed the blankets were folded on the ledges of the couch.
Sitting up I gave a twist of my body to the left and to the right in order to crack my back even more from my rough sleep. My eyes caught a glimpse of a piece of paper folded on the table taking the paper into my hand as I began to read Morning Rebecca, we left early because Roman and I had to go do something. I tossed the paper back onto the table standing to my feet.
Walking around the kitchen, it was quiet. A little lonely with out the other two to be honest. I reached out grabbing the kettle on the counter, filling it up and soon turning it on as I waited for it to boil. My stomach growled as I was starving. But the problem was that there wasn't a lot of food in here which meant today seemed liked a running around town kind of day. Looking in the freezer my eyes caught a hold of a frozen pastry with strawberry filling. It was known as a toaster strudel back in Canada, one of my favourite Pillsbury meals to eat on lazy mornings. Taking the pastry I put it in the toaster waiting patiently tapping my fingers and humming silently.
Focusing on the toaster a large pop happened as the food popped up. Taking it out and tossing it onto the counter due to how hot it was. I began icing it, as the sound of the door opened my dad had strolled in. I peered my head to the entrance way, the strudel hanging from my mouth while stirring my cup of fresh Orange Peako tea.
"Oh good morning Rebecca, you are up early. I thought you would have been sleeping in being a long weekend and all." my dad proclaimed tossing his car keys onto the nearest table by the entrance way, "So, did anything happen while I was gone?" he added taking a seat in the kitchen.
My mind replayed last night and everything that happened. "Nope! Just your typical boring night." I lied, "Oh I completely forgot to reset the fuse system. I watched a whole bunch of scary movies and couldn't bear to go downstairs." I added laughing nervously before he could reply I quickly cut him, "Coffee? Breakfast? You look exhausted."
My dad shook his head, "No thanks. And I am. It was a long night last night. I'm probably going to go to bed. Catch up on some sleep."
I nodded to what he said "Sure, of course. Good night dad, well in your case good night." I added with a smile, my dad walked up giving me a kiss on my forehead then left for his room.

I grabbed a towel from my closet carrying it into the bathroom. Laying it down on the counter, I turned the shower on waiting for the right temperature, then soon stepping in. I felt a cold presence, and by the feeling of it, Layla had followed me into the bathroom.
"Layla? what are you doing in here! " I called out, ghosts clearly didn't know the meaning of privacy. Waiting for an answer after what felt like forever her child like voice came through, "I was in here first. Please do continue your business, I'm not one to judge."
I scrunched my nose up at her comment just what was that supposed to mean. While the hot water ran over my body and through my hair I began thinking about what the girl had said last night to all of us.
"Hey, Can I ask you something?" I inquired, as I lathered my hair in shampoo, waiting for her response.
"You are already thinking about asking me something, probably about last night. I don't have all the answers but I can enlighten you with some clarification."
I continued to wash my hair as small exhale came out of my nose thinking of her choice of words, "This isn't what I was going to ask you, but you seem very wise for being a little girl."
