Opening my eyes, still to complete darkness, I couldn't tell what time of day it was. My hands skimmed over my bed in search for another body but it was completely empty. My sense of touch was much more sensitive than ever before, as for my hearing it was what I relied on.I could hear movement downstairs, which meant Roman was here, or Peter. Sliding to the end of my bed I placed my feet gently on the ground, slightly biting my lip from a small pain. I had relaxed, easing my way to my feet. Feeling around for any walls, dressers or any other objects. Every now and then I'd bump into the wall or stumble into a table. Feeling for the rails I followed to an opening which turned away with what I could remember of the house I was right at the stairs.
"So, How is she?" I could hear Peter's calming voice downstairs talking to Roman, which meant by now it had to be morning if Peter was now in his human form.
"She was sleeping last time I checked, had to change her pillows like five times. Her eyes would not stop bleeding. It was pretty fucked up. You look like you had a shitty night. Find anything?"
"What do you think, that Vargulf. Turns out its an alpha male from what I could pick up and hungry. This is larger than what we dealt with before, I can feel it in my Swadisthana. I picked up its smell around the street near the school. But it wasn't the only thing, It smelt like someone else was there. But it was hard to tell,"
"How?"
"Smoke, there was a fire... it went straight across the road like a barrier. You said she was bleeding from her eyes..."
"Yeah, she told me she did something really bad and before I could get anything out she completely passed out."
"How did you hold up with that?"
"It was hard, I was fighting everything I had to hold back. She just kept bleeding and bleeding. And her pulse, just knowing the blood was flowing,"
"You didn't...?"
"No, I left as fast as I could to go find something to replace the hunger. But she was acting weird when she got home. Weirder than usual."
Before Peter could respond he hit Romans arm, nodding towards the stairs, I couldn't tell if they were looking but by the way, they went silent they must have seen me emerge from the top floor. "I'm blind Peter, not deaf." I implied blandly. The two never said anything at first. My guess was they had to take in the fact that I couldn't see. "I fucking hate stairs," I mumbled under my breath as a slight way to ease the tension, and just barely crack a joke.
"Holy shit," Peter's voice had changed to complete shock, I probably looked worse than I felt. Shaking my head at Peter's stunned voice, I felt my way down the steps slowly tapping my foot against what felt like stairs so I wouldn't tumble down. I felt my feet slip on what felt like the second step close to the bottom, I had managed fairly well. Catching myself, I steadied my pace and soon felt my feet come in contact with the cold hardwood floors which felt soothing on the small cuts on the bottoms of my feet.
Recalling as much as I could of the house, I made my way slowly into the kitchen and both Roman and Peter had followed me. But there was nothing but silence. Taking a seat on the stool which took me what felt like five minutes to sit on properly, "Shouldn't we be going to school?" I questioned, my voice was shaky. I had to admit it was probably the most incoherent thing that has ever come out of my mouth.
I had a horrible pain in my stomach, it felt like my stomach was tied in a million little knots being pulled tighter and tighter. I was a nervous wreck, I just hoped the boys would look past that and refrain from losing their minds like they tend to do when it came to me. I couldn't help but be distracted by what I had done at the school the night before. I would imagine it was all over the news.
