England has been embroiled in the 100 years war with France for almost ninety years.
The year is 1429, the City of Orleans has been under siege for six long months.
England was winning the war with France, constantly on the offensive, but in 1422 its great warrior king, Henry V died, leaving his nine month old son the throne.
That now seven year old child is surrounded by relatives who control the throne in his name.
Meanwhile in France a seventeen year old girl, who will be known as Joan of Arc, seeks to liberate France from oppression.
