It was time to go home. I thought that after everything that happened I'd want that more. But as I looked between the faces of my companions I couldn't help but cry. I was going to miss them, all of them.
"You could always come back and visit again some time," Hella said, turning upside down on her staff as they all surrounded the cauldron at the wizard's house.
"And go back into that haunted house? I—I don't know if I want to risk death to see you," I said with a shudder. Even now, I dreaded going back to that creepy old house to get home.
The wizard handed me a necklace. "Anytime you want to come visit, Casey, just hold this charm and think of your memories here with your friends, it'll transport you back."
Calvin had decided to stay here despite my pleading. He was the goblin king now, it was where he belonged. While I was going to miss my brother, I knew I would never forget the summer I met the Goblin King.
