Chapter 4: Blood

I gasped at the sight of Harry biting Sue. I didn't do it intentionally. It had been a complete human reflex that went with me into my vampire life. Yet, as soon as I took in that sharp intake of breath, I knew that it was a mistake.

The scent of human blood filled my nostrils and the surrounding air. I crouched my knees, ready to pounce towards Sue. I had only been sworn off of human blood for one day, so taking one sip couldn't hurt, right? I'm sure the Cullens would understand and keep me around. Surely some of them had screwed up before when they came in direct contact with human blood.

Suddenly, a strong force was pinning me to the wall, and my mouth and nose were being covered by a white marble hand. I tried to struggle with the arm holding me to the wall, but there was actually more than one vampires keeping me in place, and I couldn't fight against them.

The arm pinning me against the wall was Jasper, his breath being held carefully in his body. The marble hand was Bella's hand, and she was poised in such a position that she was helping Jasper. I couldn't break free of there grasps.

I looked to the scene going on behind Bella and Jasper, and saw that Harry had been wrestled away from Sue and Carlisle and Emmett struggled to pull him away from Sue. Sue was on the ground, screaming in pain. The venom must've been coursing through her, and I faintly recalled the feeling of fire. I remembered screaming in the graveyard besides Harry's grave, Harry himself trying to get me to quiet down and bring me to the car.

Bella turned her head around to face the commotion going on behind her. Emmett and Carlisle were gradually getting him closer to the door. Esme and Alice were kneeling beside Sue. Esme seemed to be trying to be comforting, while Alice's eyes were clouded over and off in a distant place. I knew that she was having a vision.

Bella glanced nervously at me before releasing her hand and going over to where Sue was writhing in pain. Bella was trying to get Alice to tell her what happened, but Alice was still deep in her vision. 

As soon as Bella's hand had been released, I took in a deep breath, smelling the delicious blood. I snarled at Sue, and tried to get Jasper off of me. I didn't try hard, knowing somewhere within me that I didn't want him to let go. Somehow, despite the human blood right in front of me, I still managed to hold on to my humanity.

"Edward! Emmett!" Jasper yelled, trying to shift his position to hold me down better. Just after he spoke, Edward and Emmett were pinning me down. Emmett and Jasper held me down by themselves as Edward covered my mouth and nose so that I wouldn't smell the blood. They brought me outside, and I didn't struggle against them. I didn't want to bite Sue. That, and I think that Jasper was trying to calm me.

Jasper and Emmett let go of me to go over to Carlisle. Carlisle was over with Harry on a large boulder. Jasper said something I couldn't hear, and Carlisle ran inside. Jasper and Emmett took over with Harry, and I could hear an occasional word here and there. They were telling them that either Sue died, or she turned into a vampire. There was no either or. I knew that they didn't have to say anything, but they always seemed to forget that Harry could read there minds just as well as Edward could.

I felt calm and collected, and I just stared as Jasper, Emmett, and Harry continued on with there conversation over on the large boulder. Edward eventually let go, reading my mind and knowing that I was calm. 

Alice, Esme, and Bella walked out of the house, and all of us were immediately in front of them, awaiting any news. There was a look of slight distress on Edward's face, and I knew that he was reading somebody's mind, and the thoughts weren't good. 

Harry was the first to say anything. "How's Sue?" 

"She's going to be a vampire. We can't let her die. Carlisle bit her a few more times to try to make sure that it went well. At this point, there's no doubt in any of our minds." Bella said.

"What was the vision?" Jasper asked Alice, putting his arm around her waist and pulling her close. She let her head rest on his shoulder as she spoke.

"As soon as I went over to Sue, I saw a vision. I was surprised that I hadn't seen it before now if she was going to turn. Yet, as soon as I was at her side, I saw her being a vampire. She's going to have a power that I find rather interesting."

At that second, Edward gasped and Harry looked absolutely shocked. I anxiously waited for Alice to say something.

"She's going to have the ability to turn into a wolf whenever she feels. She's going to be like the shape shifters." Alice spoke, her voice barely anything then a whisper.

There was a stunned silence in the group, and nobody was sure of what exactly to say. I felt so shocked and confused, I sat down on the wet grass. It started to rain, which wasn't unusual in Forks, and the rain didn't bother me one bit.

I sat, contemplating her unusual gift. I wondered how much of that gift was going to make her more one of the wolves, rather than a vampire. Would she have hot skin instead of our cold skin? Would she be able to communicate to other wolves through her thoughts? Would she be in Jacob's pack or Sam's pack? Would she be in a pack at all?

"We don't know." Edward said to me, reading my unspoken thoughts. 

Hours passed, and no one uttered a word. If anyone saw this site with human eyes, they would know that the people in this clearing surely weren't human. No human could stand perfectly still for hours at a time. Eventually, Edward spoke.

"We can go back into the house. Carlisle took Sue somewhere else." He said.

All of us went inside, and I didn't even notice all the time passing. I didn't even notice when Jacob walked in, Rennesmee beside him. They were updated as I stared blankly, my thoughts swirling and confused. If I was still human, I would've fallen asleep by now. 

I looked over to Jacob and Renesmee. Jacob was now in his human form, and they were whispering quietly to each other, there faces just a bit too close for my own personal comfort. 

Suddenly, they were locked in a kiss, and I wasn't really sure what to say. No one seemed to have even noticed. Yet, they was always somebody kissing the other in this house full of lovers. I'm the only one out of the 12 people in this house that didn't have somebody to kiss passionatly like Jacob and Renesmee kissed.

Bella looked over to Renesmee and Jacob, and Edward loudly cleared his throat. The two of them pulled away and looked over to Bella and Edward. Edward looked pointedly at Jacob, who scooted a bit away from Renesmee.

"Dad, you're ruining my moment!" Renesmee complained.

The house erupted for just a quick moment into laughter. Suddenly, it stopped, and everyones eyes were away and looking towards the door.

Standing there was an abnormally large wolf that had newborn-red eyes
