Tsuki's hospital slippers were producing a sound similar to a goose squawking and echoing through the corridors, bouncing from one wall to the other, making it impossible to unhear. At the beginning of her internship at Lee's National Hospital, she would've been ashamed of being the cause of such ridiculous noise, despite it not depending on her, but after already a year and realising that it was common to hear those funny sounds in the hospital, she finally learned to not conceal her steps for the embarrassment.
She playfully puckered her lips while reading yesterday's report about one of the patients so that she could start her shift prepared to face whatever difficulty that day had in store for her. According to the papers, the patient had no particular ailment to bear in mind, which meant that she could've proceeded with the medicinal therapy prescribed.
"Ugh, that one is a tough guy, good luck giving him those meds." A girly voice in the middle between a murmur and a laugh commented in front of Tsuki. The latter sharply lowered the yellow folder, revealing Bora's sly face as the former's expression shifted into a disheartened one.
"I hoped this day would've never come." Commented the black-haired girl sadly whilst closing the folder and dropping her shoulders. Apparently, the patient she had been assigned to was an old man who didn't want to hear anything about medicines and doctors, yet, he was somehow always hospitalised.
Bora giggled before intertwining her fingers behind her back and springing on the tip of her feet, "By the way, Doctor Lee wants to have a chat with you now. Is that alright for you?" She inquired as one of the corners of her mouth maliciously curved up to her ear.
"Ah, yes, no problem from my side," Tsuki replied inattentively, ignoring the weight of the subject who had required a word with her. However, as soon as her brain stored all the information her colleague had provided her, the black-haired girl's face transformed into stone, emotionless, "Wait, what?"
"I was surprised by your nonchalance, in fact, I wondered if you've heard me right," Bora answered almost annoyed by the fact that Tsuki wasn't paying attention to her. She rolled her eyes before explaining the situation foolproof, "You. Doctor Lee's office. Now." And, before the girl could protest, she was being pushed by her colleague, who was taller and double her size, so resisting was useless. Tsuki got pushed all the way to the door leading to the surgeon's office, which wasn't distant from where she already was, before being abandoned on the threshold and watching the documents being torn from her grasp. "Good luck!" Bora sang before lifting her thumb and cutting and running.
"You'll pay for it, bitch!" The corvine girl playfully threatened her colleague, choosing an insult to emphasize the concept without actually aiming to offend her and the activity she enjoyed in her private life, about which Tsuki knew hardly anything.
The girl now left alone in front of that wooden surface, sighed and raised her arm with her hand tight into a fist to knock on the door, a gesture that turned out useless, since his voice reached Tsuki's ears padded and distant, "Come on in." He began as if he was dying to see the apprentice.
The latter obeyed and placed her hand on the doorknob to push it open and enter the office. The room was unexpectedly small for belonging to the big deal of the hospital, still, the golden colours of the furniture and the light filtering through the white curtains made it look wider, as well as cleaner and orderlies. The pieces of furniture were well polished as if not a single speck of dust had dared to lay on there, and their edges were sharp like the owner's jawline at that moment. The girl couldn't tell if he was angry or just his natural facial shape, but she rapidly noticed that, if she had met him by the street for the first time, she would've felt unease speaking to him.
She waited on the threshold, meditating whether it was better to show herself more confident or just act the way she naturally was, hoping also to disappear inside the wall and to escape his dark brown eyes that were focused on some documents ever since opened the door and probably even before that. The weight of the embarrassment on her shoulders was becoming unbearable, until, "Please, have a sit." His voice thundered, and in a blink of an eye, the girl was sitting in front of him.
