There they were, back at the place Somi wished to stay away from the most: Lee's National Hospital. The quartet was waiting at the entrance of the emergency wing, Ji Woong was lying on what looked like a camp bed and the only instrument available to create some privacy was a white curtain between one bed and the other which, of course, wasn't soundproof. Dan-I was sitting on the plastic chair on one side of the bed, nervously nibbling at her nails with a pensive expression and eyes staring at an undefined point in front of her.
To Somi, it wasn't clear what kind of relationship was occurring between those two and Dan-I's actions and words from a little before meant nothing since she had had a crush on Ji Woong from the moment she stepped inside the shop. Somi was curious, undoubtedly, though it was the case to shoo her curiosity until everything would've been back to normal before diving into light topics like gossip.
That wing of the hospital was in turmoil: doctors, nurses and volunteers were marching from left to right, back and forth, some with paperwork in their hands, others busy pushing gurneys or wheelchairs. Maybe it was because of the imaginary confusion that Somi couldn't stop her feet from drumming on the floor, or perhaps, it was caused by the steady rising uneasiness prickling her stomach that convinced her that she shouldn't have been there. The more time passed, the more she feared to meet Lee Dong-Wook's dark eyes again, to the point where her brain imagined seeing him pop out from every corner.
She suddenly felt hot, or was it the emergency room with the heating system broken? Usually, hospitals were far from being the warmest buildings. The blonde woman moved her eyes to rapidly scan the staff to notice, to her dismay, that most of them were wearing a cardigan, and some doctors had a jumper under their white coats. Clearly, something was wrong with her.
"I need to go to the bathroom." She murmured to Mingi, who sapped his head in her direction once he heard her thin voice.
"I'll walk you." He claimed and led the way without giving enough time for Somi to retort, he already knew she would've objected.
She followed him like a kid in an unknown place while continuously checking her surroundings to ensure Doctor Lee wouldn't pop out from the first corner closer to her. Suddenly, everyone looked like him, it was as if he had multiplied and was in different places at the same time or as if all the employees had agreed on wearing a mask with his face on the same day. Not even in her worst nightmares she was so frightened of being in a public space.
Her brain was completely lost, intent on analysing every single piece of information that didn't process the male had halted his steps and was standing in front of the entrance to the restrooms. She turned her head but right at that moment, the tip of her nose collided with Mingi's back, precisely in the middle of his shoulder blades, the rest of her face could only follow.
Somi squeaked while Mingi flinched and turned around to face her with an elegant jump dictated by a tremor that shook his body when they came in contact. His eyes were gaped and immediately scanned her visage to check her nose hadn't broken, not that the impact was that strong. The girl stroked the bridge of her nose and, after giving the man a quick glance, she stepped inside the restroom, eyes and mind lost in her thoughts once again.
Mingi had just pulled his cell phone outside of his pocket to check the unread messages when quick stomps and a fanned breath distracted him. Dan-I had run all the way to him and was attempting to recover from the run she had just completed by laying all of her weight on her arms that were in their turn pressed against her bent knees. "Sorry..." She breathed before lifting her head to look at his face. "Would you mind helping me with Ji Woong? The doctor believes it's better to check more thoroughly to ensure that the brain didn't suffer any damage and needs a hand to move him from one bed to the other."
